As reported here, media mogul Oprah Winfrey continues her reignited foray into film with the production of a new Martin Luther King, Jr. based biopic.
Titled ‘Selma,’ the Ava DuVernay-directed film is set to chronicle MLK’s historic voting rights campaign that included the 1965 march to Selma, AL. Produced by Oprah and Brad Pitt‘s Plan B, the pic is already set to star Winfrey, rapper Common, Tom Wilkinson, Martin Sheen, and will now see the ‘Queen of Talk’ reunite with her ‘The Butler’ co-star Cuba Gooding, Jr.
Tapped to play famed civil rights attorney and activist Fred Gray, the Academy Award-winner is the latest to join the growing cast. As of time reporting, the Paramount Pictures’ film has no projected release date.
