‘New Life’ maestra Monica shows off the newest addition to her family in the form of daughter Laiyah.

The 5-month old, Mo’s daughter with husband/basketballer Shannon Brown, was seen posing it up with mom and older brothers Rocko and Romelo in these snaps recently lifted to the Grammy winner’s Instagram page.

As her label-mate Rihanna continues work on her eighth studio album, and Beyonce continues to reap many a reward from her latest, Mariah Carey no doubt seeks to come out on top when her new album drops via Island Def Jam on May 6th.

So, it should come as little surprise that the icon has taken a ‘hands on’ approach to the project’s campaign, executing every move employed to push the project alongside manager/producer Jermaine Dupri, and – as she explains in the interview below- the latest video unveiled to support its cause.

Indeed, with just over 1.2 million views on YouTube, the star’s clip for new single ‘You’re Mine (Eternal)’ made quite the digital splash upon arrival and may now see its streaming data land her the smash hit traditional sales are currently struggling to nab her.

Her third studio album may be yet to nab a release date, but that hasn’t stopped Jennifer Hudson from doing what she can to secure the support music lovers everywhere today…even if by accident.

For, as to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the ‘Spotlight’ stunner made her way to LA’s Nokia Theatre to enjoy a sold out show put on by ‘Silk’ manufacturer Keith Sweat, doing so alongside partner David Otunga.

It was there, to her complete surprise, that Sweat pulled her on stage to perform the R&B smash hit ‘Nobody.’

It’s abundantly clear what Trey is playing at. And we’re not mad at him. Sales – more specifically his sales – aren’t what they were, so one has to rev up buzz (and other things) whichever way they can. We just hope his new material isn’t as tired or predictable as his antics are. Although, with a title like ‘Trigga’, we wouldn’t our breath.

The good people over at ‘Power 106 FM’ celebrated Valentine’s Day with style last week, when they put on the well-received spectacle that was ‘Valentine’s Crush‘, now available to enjoy here.

After wowing the event’s audience with a stellar set, a heavily pregnant Ciara caught up with the station’s ever-pleasant Rikki Martinez, with whom she can be seen alongside in the snap above.

What they discussed? A whole lot. However, those interested in fresh details on the ‘Promise’ maker’s pregnancy will find their conversation more interesting than most, for reasons that become clear at the 0.44 mark.

Are sales of Mariah Carey‘s forthcoming LP doomed?

If the quality of singles ‘Beautiful’ and ‘You’re Mine’ are anything to go by, the answer to that uncomfortable question is no.

Alas, as many a ‘music head’ will know all too well, the quality of one’s music means very little on a commercial front, if the consumer simply isn’t into it.

It’s for this reason, Camp Carey may have a problem on its hands today, now that her brand new single has slipped, tripped and dipped out of iTunes USA less than a week after its release.

It may have gotten off to a slow start, but John Legend‘s ‘All of Me‘ is now on its way to proving that very little can get in the way of good music.

Released on August 12th 2013, the love song’s recent Grammy appearance has now flung it to the arms of the general public, who are now pushing the song to heights it should have reached upon release, but is on course to arrive at months later.

Following a host of false starts, Mariah Carey made her chart return this week with new single ‘You’re Mine (Eternal)’.

As always with Mimi, the track’s arrival brought with it a multitude of different opinions – even more than usual as the diva unwrapped the cut’s accompanying video on the same day.

Off to a respectable start on iTunes, attention has now turned to how the song will fare in such a competitive climate, with some critics wondering aloud if the singer’s outlandish diva-isms (see: bizarre Breakfast Club interview) will count against her this go round.
