From Satan to Santa, Lil Nas X‘s current era isn’t lacking in cultural and historical references to push his musical agenda.

As fans continue to recuperate from the shock of the sacrilegious imagery that lines his latest music video, ‘Montero (Call Me By My Name),’ the GRAMMY winner has learned his name has been printed a-front yet another shiny plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

This time, it’s for the predecessor of ‘Montero’:  2020’s ‘Holiday.’  Details inside:

Veteran EMMY-nominated actress Niecy Nash may have had tongues wagging as she took to Facebook Watch’s ‘Red Table Talk’ this week to discuss the breakdowns of her previous marriages opposed to her successful current union with Jessica Betts (her first same-sex relationship), but the details of those happenings weren’t all the juicy info gleaned from the session.

Discussion about Summer Walker‘s meteoric rise to fame has only been matched (or arguably eclipsed) by the drama surrounding her personal life.

When not making headlines for her tumultuous relationship with producer London on Da Track (including highly publicized beefs with the mothers of his children), the singer-songwriter is bemoaning her alleged mistreatment in the music industry. For example, this time last year the 24-year-old promised she would not ‘making another song after 2020.’

And though she followed the threat 10 months later by teasing the creation of her yet-titled sophomore album, the recent birth of her daughter seemingly has her questioning her future in the business again.

The Weeknd may be enjoying the ongoing Hot 100 top 10 success of hits found aboard his fourth studio album, 2020’s ‘After Hours,’ but he’s been in quite the nostalgic mood lately.

Not even two weeks after he released his groundbreaking debut mixtape – ‘House of Balloons’ – to all streaming platforms to commemorate its 10-year anniversary (click here to stream), the GRAMMY winner (born Abel Tesfaye) celebrates the third anniversary of his ‘My Dear Melancholy’ EP by unveiling an unreleased visual from the project.

In a video filmed via phone, Tesfaye serenades two ladies making out in the backseat of his car to the EP’s fan favorite, ‘Try Me.’  As we previously reported, the clip was originally a Spotify exclusive.  Now, it’s available on wide release.

Justin Bieber may be simultaneously reigning atop this week’s Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 to historic measure (as we reported here), but he’s also #1 on another tally:  the sh*tlist of critics who claim elements of his latest album – ‘Justice’ – appropriate Black culture.

No stranger to these claims over the years, the latest of this type of accusation wielded toward Biebs comes due to the inclusion of two Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. speech excerpts on the new LP.

As the sound bites continue to cause commotion, controversy, and backlash, the GRAMMY winner is clapping back at detractors via his first Clubhouse appearance.

Make no mistake about it; ‘Beautiful Mistakes’ is a hit!

Just a month after birthing her 10th trip to the Hot 100’s top 40 with ‘Cry Baby’ (as we reported here), Megan Thee Stallion revisits the chart territory courtesy of her recently unveiled Maroon 5 duet.

Released March 3, ‘Mistakes’ made a modest #54 debut on the Pop charts just two weeks later.  Once buzz around its Sophie Muller-directed music video revved up, the song showed promise of cracking the top 40 – potential that was realized this week as evidenced by the refreshed charts.

The same week rising rapstress Mulatto earned her first Hot 100 placement with ‘B*tch from Da Souf’ was the same week she learned the title had been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Boasting a fiery original version, the Bankroll Got It-produced song was given the ultimate boost once established femcees Trina and Saweetie added their spicy additions on its remix – ultimately helping the cut become Big Latto’s breakout hit.

Now, just 7 months ‘Souf’ saw its sales head north in response to growing buzz from its parent album – ‘Queen of Da Souf’ (click here to stream) – it’s logged a career milestone for its creator.

With her sizzling lyrics, daring fashion, and eccentric music videos, Bree Runway is seemingly on the runway to becoming Hip Hop’s newest global sensation.

The Brit-born beauty cashed in on critical acclaim with her Missy Elliott-assisted bop, ‘ATM,’ and now she’s set to retrieve the same by her lonesome with its follow-up, ‘Hot Hot.’ Featuring a prominent sample of Busta Rhymes‘ unforgettable 2005 hit, ‘Touch It,’ ‘Hot Hot’ lives up to its title courtesy of a Jocelyn Anquetil-directed music video that sees Bree blazing the carwash parking lot with some serious footwork.

Speaking on the fiery number, the rising starlet said:

“I feel like this is the song everyone needs to hear as it gets hotter and the world eases up. This pandemic hasn’t been easy on the brain, and with being indoors wearing joggers 24/7, it’s been hard to feel like a hottie, so I’m hoping this track will help! Typically for me, it’s about reaffirming your power and believing in yourself cause ‘you can never do it like a Brenda.’ I want my fans to never feel afraid to hype themselves up, they’re the sh*t and they don’t need to wait for anybody to tell’em they are!”

With unforgettable hits like ‘We Fall Down,’ ‘Speak to My Heart,’ and ‘Stand,’ multiple Gold and Platinum records to his credit, and and a trophy case full of industry honors including 3 GRAMMYs, Donnie McClurkin is revered as one of the most successful Gospel artists in history.

However, while his professional achievements are plentiful, those wins – according to him – were not mirrored in his personal life.

Despite rocking headlines in 2018 for alleged ties to a gay cult, the 61-year-old has not bitten his tongue over the years about his reported deliverance from homosexuality – a stance he’s reiterated by vocalizing opposition to same-sex marriage and more.

Due to said view, McClurkin recently took to TV One’s ‘Uncensored’ to speak candidly about his own love life.  There, he even asserted he would likely be alone forever despite a desire for love and family.
