Sh*t is getting real for a Cardi B parody-turned-viral hit thanks to the ‘I Like It’ diva’s endorsement.

As we reported here last week, after DJ iMarkkeyz fashioned quotes from a video of her ranting about her fears of the spread of coronavirus into a full-on song, the clip became so popular it made its way to her Twitter page.

Once she put her stamp of approval on it, the tune found its way to the top 10 of iTunes charts.  Fast forward to this week, ‘Coronavirus’ (the song) has found tenancy on multiple Billboard charts.

Forget quarantine snacks, The-Dream and Sean Garrett are heating a full-on beef.

The hitmakers have each crafted classics for the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna, and with the industry at large trying to find creative ways to engage audiences during lockdown the pair attempted to do the same.

See, they were set to follow a growing trend and do duel in an Instagram Live battle using the hits they’ve produced.

Yet, before the festivities could commence, things got all sorts of personal between the pair.

As living R&B vocalists go, few can rival the premium of Tamia and Deborah Cox.

So, imagine the slay of a collaboration?

The ladies lived up to expectation during a virtual sing-a-long designed to lift spirits during this testing time.

Together they belted out a full version of Whitney Houston and Cece Winans classic ‘Count On Me.’

The dynamic duo joined forces in response to Winans’ #CountOnMeChallenge, which was launched akin to Tyler Perry’s #HesGotTheWholeWorldChallenge.

JoJo is one of many acts whose plans have been rocked by the on-going pandemic.

The vocal supernova was set to kickstart the ‘Good To Know Tour’ next month, rolling through many US cities before taking the trek across the pond to the UK and Europe.

However, with much of the entertainment sector shut down, she was forced to postpone.

Fans need not fret though, because she has pushed through with the brand new dates.

It’s just a good week to be The Weeknd.

The same day the Grammy winner unleashed his highly anticipated fourth studio album, ‘After Hours’ (March 20), he learned its two lead singles – ‘Heartless’ and ‘Blinding Lights’ – had been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting over 1 million in sales equivalence respectively (as we reported here).

Released via XO/Republic, the set made Apple Music history by surpassing over a million pre-adds on the service by the time of its release.  Going on to dominate the digital platform’s real-time charts, ‘Hours’ also commanded a number of positions on other digital tallies like iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. His grip over the latter was so notable, the streaming giants took to social media to congratulate him on news the LP had zoomed past the 1 billion spins mark.
