Much like its parent film released on February 7, the ‘Birds of Prey’ soundtrack fell prey to an underwhelming commercial response despite receiving praise aplenty from critics.

While the movie opened to $33 million (nearly half of the original $55 million sum expected to accompany its debut), its companion album – preceded by singles from hitmakers Megan Thee Stallion & Normani (‘Diamonds’), Saweetie (‘Sway with Me’), and Doja Cat (‘Boss B*tch’) – was projected to sell less than 20,000 copies its first week (as we originally reported here). The lack of buzz for the effort was undoubtedly underscored by the poor sales performance of its fore-running singles as none of them impacted the Hot 100.

Now, with its inaugural sales tracking week in its rear view, the ‘Prey’ soundtrack’s first 7 day figures have been unveiled.  Look inside to see where it landed on the refreshed Billboard 200 (published today):

Fans of groundbreaking 70’s sitcom ‘Good Times’ were stunned when reports surfaced the show’s star Ja’net Dubois (famous for her role as “Willona”) was found dead in her California home Tuesday (February 18).

An Emmy-winning actress, Dubois (aged 74) was also a celebrated singer-songwriter and was credited with penning the theme song to another groundbreaking 70’s sitcom – ‘The Jeffersons.’

As fans, admirers, and former co-stars of her many television projects extended their condolences to the late screen legend’s family, Pop queen Janet Jackson – who shared screen time with Dubois on ‘Good Times’ when she portrayed her adopted daughter “Penny” – joined the chorus by sharing her sympathy on social media.

As the two leading singles from Justin Bieber‘s latest album, ‘Changes,’ have both come as top 20 hits for the Pop pin-up, he’s looking to keep the good times rolling with their follow-up, ‘ETA.’
