As revenue pulled in from streaming data propels profits margins, the rapper Nicki Minaj stands as part of an elite crew of musicians with the power to pull in noteworthy sales the old fashioned way.
Positive news for the performer below…
If anybody ever dared to doubt the sales power and impact of Nicki Minaj, the response to the rapstress’s latest singles – ‘Chun-Li’ and ‘Barbie Tingz’ – should act as viable reasons to reconsider that stance.
As we reported here, the cuts – which both premiered this morning (April 12) – are reportedly the lead singles from Minaj’s long-awaited fourth studio album, the follow-up to 2014’s double platinum ‘Pinkprint.’ The fan reactions to the tunes’ respective releases, coupled with with the Harajuku Barbie’s domination of headlines due to confirmed beef with fellow femcee Cardi B (click here to read about that), certainly made the Young Money maven the top talk of the day.
The ultimate result? She’s topped the iTunes sales chart with both singles:
Sabrina Claudio‘s chances of becoming a household name have been shattered by her own hands.

It’s officially Drake season!
Drizzy dropped new single ‘Nice For What’ – with a video too featuring the likes of Tracee Ellis Ross, Tiffany Haddish, and Issa Rae.
Like most things the releases, the song rocketed into the upper echelon of the charts.
But how is it faring against Cardi B‘s ‘I Like’? Find out below…
The heavily pregnant Rap star Cardi B has much to celebrate this morning.

‘Lips Are Movin’ maestra Meghan Trainor‘s been moving up the digital charts since the release of her latest single, ‘No Excuses.’
The Andrew Wells-produced cut, which saw its official accompanying music video premiere March 1st (click here to watch), has not even been available a full week on digital shelves yet has already topped its tally (pushing top-selling hits like Drake‘s ‘God’s Plan’ and DJ Khaled/Beyonce/Jay Z/Future‘s ‘Top Off’ to the side).
In a bid to ensure the song’s stay at #1 isn’t short-lived, Trainor took to ‘Fallon’ recently to give the tune its first televised performance. While her last performance on the show saw her take quite the tumble (click here to relive that moment), we can assure you she fared much better this time.

‘Shining’ trio DJ Khaled, Beyonce, and Jay Z are doing just that atop the current iTunes chart with their soon-to-be-hit, ‘Top Off.’
Tapping chart-topping rapper Future to assist on its chorus, the quad of hitmakers unveiled the song last night as the kickoff single for Khaled’s forthcoming album, ‘Father of Asahd’ (click here to read more).
Not even 24 hours after its release the cut has chopped Drake‘s massive hit, ‘God’s Plan,’ from the top of the digital tally. See it inside:
Remy Ma‘s comeback has been, for the most part, successful.
Powered by the smash hit cut ‘All the Way Up’, the Hip-Hop titan made major gains on Hip-Hop’s live music circuit and as the new star of VH1’s ‘Love and Hip Hop New York.’
Unfortunately, as Cardi B’s commercial star rises, she is forced to watch hers crash and burn.
Why? Her fans’ reluctance to purchase her music.
What this spells? Trouble on the iTunes chart.
