2020 was undoubtedly the breakout year for serial hitmaking rapper DaBaby.
In addition to earning his first Hot 100 chart-topper with the long-running ‘Rockstar’ (featuring Roddy Ricch), the 29-year-old earned his second Billboard 200 chart-topper with its parent album – ‘Blame It on Baby’ – and later learned ‘Rockstar’ was nominated for Record of the Year at the 2021 GRAMMYs (click here to read).
With hopes of keeping the buzz brewing, the rapper (born Jonathan Kirk) lifts the lid on his first new single of the year with the aptly titled ‘Masterpiece.’ Previewed on social media last month, patient fans finally have their hands on the tune’s full version.
Now, you can hear the DA Got That Dope-produced bop inside:
Pop songbird Jennifer Lopez literally spreads her wings to take flight in the out-of-this-world music video for her latest single, ‘In the Morning.’
A month after the song’s November arrival, Lopez took to social media to tease the creation of its accompanying clip’s creation – a sneak peek highlighted by a sizzling array of high fashion, elaborate costume designs, and special effects.
And, despite earning moderate attention on the international front (i.e. charts of Canada, United Kingdom, Hungary, and more), ‘Morning’ yet to see that level of buzz rise in the United States as it’s yet to impact the Hot 100.
A peek at the scorching video – released Wednesday (January 13) – may be just the trick to change the tide.

Despite having a documented history of dissing Rap Queen Nicki Minaj, DJ Akademiks made headlines recently for finally “bowing down to kiss the ring” – but not without doing so at the expense of other female rappers.
No stranger for earning negative reviews for his controversial opinions, the popular Urban culture commentator expressed disappointment for the “low bar” set for femcees over the last year. An interesting position given that female Rap hit unprecedented highs in 2020.
“The popular female rappers in 2020, the bar was this low,” said Akademiks. “Truth be told, for all the male rappers, if it was on some Juwanna Man sh*t and could f*ckin’ trick the game and just have a big f*ckin’ fat ass and people think they’re a female and just wear like, a ton of lace fronts and f*ckin’ wigs and throw on a sh*t ton of lipgloss, yeah, the skill level is here.”
Later in his rant, he homed in on Minaj’s ‘Hot Girl Summer’ co-star Megan Thee Stallion by claiming the Hot Girl Coach had ‘lazy bars’ and was succesful because she was ‘a victim.’
That’s not all he said. Look inside to see just what got Stallion’s fans, affectionately called Hotties, blazing keyboards in defense of the Houston-born rapstress.
In breaking news, Twitter has announced that it has banned Donald Trump‘s account permanently.

Beyonce rang in 2021 with an attitude of gratitude.
The diva may be between solo albums, but that didn’t stop her from having an action-packed year.
From the blazing success of Adidas x Ivy Park to ‘Black Is King’, Queen Bey maintained an omnipresence during 2020.
One of the other main vehicles for this was unquestionably the ‘Savage’ remix with Megan Thee Stallion.
The surprise release proved a mega smash and went on to top the Billboard Hot 100. A feat notably achieved without the need for a music video.
Still that didn’t stop fans from wishing for one. And while it didn’t come to fruition, Bey just dropped a Cheers To The New Year visual that may serve as a consolation of sorts.

Just a week after planting her latest single, ‘Willow,’ atop the Hot 100 (click here to read more), the Taylor Swift tune was whisked away from the position thanks to a gust of holiday tunes.
And, while the #1 premiere of the ‘Evermore’ cut entered her in history books for a number of reasons including being the third female artist (fifth overall) to nab three career debuts atop the Hot 100, it’s now seeing her penciled in records for opposite movement.
