Angelina Jolie is back on the big screen with a surefire blockbuster, ‘Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil.’

The colossal production, due in theaters on October 18th, adds a new layered chapter to one of Disney’s most notable villains. One, it seems, may be misunderstood.

With the 2014 original generating a gargantuan $760 million at the global box office, anticipation is sky high for its follow-up.

Alicia Keys lent her oft-praised vocals to the iHeartMedia-sanctioned Stonewall Day concert, which marked the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.

Performing live in her hometown of New York City last Friday (June 28), the response to her set – namely her remake of Cyndi Lauper‘s 1986 chart-topping hit ‘True Colors’ – was so positive Keys and team decided to repackage it as a music video and upload it to her official Youtube handle.

“I felt so moved to play at #Stonewall50 during World Pride this year knowing it was in my hometown, and this song captured the energy so perfectly!!,” Keys said. “YOU COULD FEEL IT! New York, you showed your True Colors and they were so beautiful!!”

The Grammy winner donned her signature braids and a Stella McCartney jumpsuit to show love for a community that’s long supported her in her nearly 20 year career.

‘It was something I was never [going to reveal] ever…just take it to the grave.’

The quote above was lifted from rapper Lil Nas X‘s first televised interview after stunning the music world by coming out of the closet.

The announcement – which the 20-year-old lifted to Twitter on June 30 (‘Gay Pride Day’) – may have been met with overwhelming support for the ‘Old Town Road’ hitmaker, but there were still some who opted to respond with disappointment and even lend homophobic remarks (click here to read). X hit back at the detractors online, but in a recent interview with our friends at BBC he went into detail about how the backlash that followed his big reveal affected him.
