Although Beyonce‘s latest album, the March 29-released ‘Cowboy Carter,’ is seeing its acclaim outpaced only by its gargantuan first-week streaming figures, there are still some critics who aren’t exactly welcoming of the diva’s foray into Country.

Resistance faced from the era’s onset (from music lovers, fellow celebrities, and even music programmers), some of the genre’s staunchest enthusiasts have voiced their displeasure with Bey’s decision to line dance onto the music format’s charts – much to the dismay of some big names.

Having already received thumbs up from the likes of Garth Brooks, Maren Morris, Dolly Parton, Candace Owens, and others, now Kirstie Kraus, June Carter Cash‘s daughter Carlene Carter, and the legendary Nancy Sinatra have join the list of stars praising ‘Cowboy.’

Kanye West has sparked fresh controversy and once again it centers on racial discourse.

Fresh from offending many with comments deemed anti-Semitic, the rapper shared a shocking take on one of the cases at the heart of the contemporary Black Lives Matter movement: the murder of George Floyd.

As of writing, former Police officer Derek Chauvin is sitting in prison convicted of killing the unarmed Black man – whose neck he knelt on for over 9 minutes.

For Kanye, though, that wasn’t the reason for Floyd’s death.

Social media remains in an uproar after Kanye West‘s Yeezy Paris Fashion Week Show on Monday (October 3) saw the controversial rapper unveil a new line of custom tee shirts with the phrase “White Lives Matter” printed on them.

Rocked by fellow celebrities Candace Owens, Selah Marley (daughter of Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley‘s son Rohan), and others, the shirts garnered quite the backlash despite West’s attempt to classify them as “revolutionary art.”

Hours after the GRAMMY winner took to the net to defend the Yeezy tees as a response to the “scam” that was the Black Lives Matter movement (as we reported here), Selah has done the same.

On the “demonic” wings of his latest music video for the song ‘Montero (Call Me By My Name),’ rapper-singer Lil Nas X has been the talk of the music industry – for reasons good and bad.

The polarizing performer has some lauding him for his creativity while others are condemning the clip for its overtly sexual and sacrilegious imagery – a denouncement LNX has been busy retaliating against since the visual’s March 26 premiere.

Among those who have made headlines for criticism of the 21-year-old are fellow musicians Brian Casey (of Jagged Edge) and Joyner Lucas (click here to read), social and political commentator/author/TV personality Candace Owens, and basketballer Nick Young.  And while a number of them received a clap back from him for their commentary, Young is among the first who is apologizing for his statement.

Rapper Joyner Lucas is the latest name to weigh-in on Lil Nas X‘s controversial video for his new single ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name).’

In the cinematic clip, the 21-year-old is depicted as being cast out of heaven and sliding down a pole straight to hell where he’s shown twerking on Satan.

Following the likes of a Jagged Edge star, Candace Owens, and more, Lucas has voiced displeasure over the visual.

And he’s made clear that his gripe centers on the supposed impact on the youth.

Actor-turned-TV-personality Mario Lopez has been dragged all up and down Twitter thanks to controversial remarks he made about children and gender identity.

Taking to ‘The Candace Owens Show,’ the former ‘Saved by the Bell’ star set off alarms for members of the LGBTQ community (and its supporters) when he stated:

“…I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids… and I think if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong. But at the same time, if you’re three years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way, or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make that determination then.

You don’t know anything about sexuality yet… You’re just a kid.”

After critics called out his insensitivity to conflating gender identity with sexuality, the ‘Extra’ star took to press to offer an apology. See it inside: (more…)
