Madonna‘s fiercely anticipated ‘MDNA World Tour’ set sail in spectacular fashion last night in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The (debated) Queen of Pop served up a wholly edible slice of material from her latest album (also christened ‘MDNA’), as well as an array of  hits from yesteryear.

Rocco, the 53 year old’s 11 year old son, also joined in the fun, performing on a number of cuts with his mom in front of the 35,000 fans crammed into the Ramat Gan Stadium.

Big-budget videos, a Superbowl Half-time performance, and a giant snowball of hype. All of the aforementioned preceded the release of Madonna‘s latest album ‘MDNA’. And yet the LP has gone on to become one of the star’s worst performing yet.

Indeed, after shifting an impressive 359,000 copies in its first week on sale in the US (a figure boosted by a tour ticket/album combo), the following seven days would see the set make history for all the wrong reasons – after sales dropped a whopping 86%. Since then, the ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” led collection hasn’t fared any better – disappearing from the upper, middle, and bottom echelons of the charts in many a country.

Naturally, then, the blame game begins and it seems first up on the podium is the album’s primary producer William Orbit. The 55 year old Pop maestro, who couldn’t stop professing the greatness of the LP before its arrival, has been rather vocal about why he thinks the album flopped into the fiery pits.

Check out his “interesting” rationale after the jump…

The Holy Land will be the first to see what ‘Dress You Up’ diva Madonna has been cooking up for her highly anticipated ‘MDNA’ tour.  Unlike its like named, accompanying album, the tour is off to a rocking start at the box office (pushing nearly $500 million in sales).

With dates sold out daily, fans of the 53-year-old hitmaker are set to be in for a treat.  We’ve already given you a peek behind the scenes, now get into these new snap’s uploaded to the Material Girl’s Facebook page today.

Looks like she’s breaking out the big guns:

Your thoughts?

Madonna‘s status as a Pop royal wasn’t acheived by means of talent. Rather, it was her uncanny ability to court controversy which has earned her the (arguable) title of Queen of Pop.

Alas, it’s little surprise that the 53 year old is digging into her trusty bag of tricks for her forthcoming ‘MDNA World Tour’.

Newly released pics show the ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” singer has employed crucifixes, ghouls and a whole lot more for the trek, which industry insiders predict could generate $500 Million when said and done.

We say, do whatever it takes to sell them tickets. For, the all-round lack of promo for the ‘MDNA’ LP served as an emphatic declaration that ol’ Maggie is bored of selling progressively less and is instead vesting her energy into the lucrative touring market. The smartest of moves for an act in her predicament.

The ‘MDNA World Tour’ kicks off in Tel Aviv next Thursday (May 31st).

Cast your eyes on Madonna, out and about with 25 year old boyfriend Brahim Zaibat.

Spotted in New York yesterday, the pair shopped at J Crew seemingly by undisturbed  members of the general public, weeks before the star embarks her on record breaking ‘MDNA Tour‘, in support of the #1 album of the same name.

Congratulations are certainly in order for Rihanna.

Yes, while her talent may still be missing in action and a #1 US album still dodging her like the plague, the star has scored quite the feat today.

For today, the UK’s Official Charts Company released the Top 150 Biggest Selling Singles Of The 21st Century.

A list, which sees Rihanna named 9 times- beating the likes of Beyonce, Adele and Lady GaGa.

‘Vogue’ vixen Madonna strikes quite the pose on the latest issue of ‘Vanity Fair Italia’.  The magazine, which has seen Madge as its covergirl eight previous times, hit newsstands yesterday.  But, while the promoting her first fragrance ‘Truth Or Dare’, the singer’s latest effort ‘MDNA’ dropped down the charts faster than the ‘Holiday’ hitmaker has shed her clothes in years past, that hasn’t veered the 53-year-old pop queen from pressing forward promoting its accompanying tour.

A tour, mind you, which had already grossed over $200 million in pre-sales in mid-April.  Ka-ching!  Check out the trailer  and more pics from the Vanity Fair set below:

Her upcoming tour has reportedly made over $250 million in advance tickets alone, but that hasn’t saved Madonna‘s new album ‘MDNA’ from embarrassment on the Billboard 200.

Yes, after earning the record for the highest second week sales drop in chart history, the LP has suffered yet another sales dip.

Queen of Pop Madonna may be used to making headlines and history, but the last few weeks has seen her doing so for all the wrong reasons.  As fans may recall, despite notching her 5th consecutive #1 album (8th overall) with ‘MDNA’, the album plummeted down charts in historic fashion – giving her the largest drop in Billboard history.  Coupled with photographs circulating in press of her eldest daughter Lourdes puffing cigarettes, it’s safe to say it just hasn’t been the best times for ol’ Madge.

Hard at work at her sure-to-be stellar tour, the Grammy-winning diva sat down with Rock Center’s Brian Williams to dish on the aforementioned topics and more in a very candid interview.  The uncharacteristically relaxed diva also talked about the challenges she’s faced selling records.

With reports surfacing today indicating Madge’s visit on the show boosted its ratings over 40%, see what all the fuss was about after the jump:

‘Truth Or Dare‘ is finally here.

Yes, after what may seem like an eternity to her fan base, Madonna launched her first fragrance in New York last night.

In partnership with Coty Prestige, the ‘Take A Bow‘ beaut released the perfume after 15 years of development, and follows the release of her #1 album ‘MDNA’.

Much like a certain Dolly Parton, Madonna‘s sales have always been top heavy.

Starting off impressive in their first week, the ‘Material Girl’s LP’s find themselves sliding down the chart by its second week, much to dismay of her staunchest fans.

However, her latest effort ‘MDNA‘ has found itself becoming the mother of all disappointments.
