‘Step in the Name of Love’ singer R. Kelly stepped into the Cook County jail Friday night after turning himself in to Chicago police Friday night following the announcement he was being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
His hearing the next day (February 23) saw the judge hand down a ruling of $1 million bail for his release, of which he only needed to pay 10 percent ($100,000) in order to be released. As of time reported, the Grammy winner remains behind bars because – according to his lawyer – his finances “are a mess.”
