Having already taken music and television shows by storm over her 30-year career, the 2020s have really seen multi-hyphenate diva Kandi Burruss set sights on building her filmography.

When not raking in impressive ratings for Lifetime via ‘Seven Deadly Sins: Envy‘ Burruss racked up equally noteworthy streaming figures for Peacock via ‘The Pass.’

Now she’s looking to do the same with BET+ original holiday flick ‘Whatever It Takes.’

Also starring A.J. Johnson, Brely Evans, and reality star-actress Tami Roman, the Tailiah Breon-directed movie tells the story of four women who use a Christmas gathering to bond over the romantic mishaps of their respective love lives while trying to balance their careers, friendships, and hopes for the future.

As Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice proclaimed in their 2023 hit, it’s a “Barbie world” – at least it is according to the good folks at the Critics Choice Awards.

Just two days after dominating the Golden Globe nominations, the CCAs took to press Wednesday (December 13) to unveil the nods for their show’s 29th annual ceremony and the Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling-led film ‘Barbie‘ racked up a whopping 18 mentions including in Best Picture, Director, and Screenplay categories (easily making them the year’s most nominated).

Elsewhere, favorites like ‘The Color Purple,’ Danielle Brooks, Sterling K. Brown, and Colman Domingo saw their names listed in competition for some of the event’s top prizes.

The nominations for the 2024 Golden Globe Awards have been announced – and it’s good news for the likes of Fantasia Barrino, Danielle Brookes, Colman Domingo, and more.

As some of Hollywood’s most notable names, they have racked up noms for their efforts in titles including ‘The Color Purple,’ ‘Rustin,’ ‘Barbie,’ ‘Oppenheimer,’ and ‘American Fiction.’

Knockout (born Leclair D’Angelo Marquis) may be best known for titles like ‘Monster Invasion,’ ‘Bare Intruders,’ ‘Colossal Penetration,’ and ‘Raw Violations,’ but it was Nicki Minaj fans (affectionately called #Barbz) who felt violated after the famed adult star took to Twitter to imply the Rap diva’s new album – the December 8-released ‘Pink Friday 2‘ – wasn’t her best work.

DaBaby is waxing candid about his losses following the homophobia scandal that erupted in the wake of his comments while performing at Rolling Loud

As extensively reported, the MC came under fire when chanting the following at the 2021 instalment of the festival:

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, then put your cellphone lighter up.

Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d**k in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”

The aftermath saw the rapper dropped from many a live lineup and endorsement deals terminated. This, on heels of begrudged apologies and supposedly sincere do-overs weeks later.

Now, almost three years on, DaBaby is opening up about how the situation impacted his pockets.

A jury could not reach a verdict in the case of the former Louisville police detective, Brett Hankison, who was charged with violating the civil rights of Breonna Taylor during a raid that resulted in her fatal shooting by police in March 2020.

As the world grapples with the reality of the sudden death of ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry, the late actor’s castmates on the hit show are paying public tribute.

Shockwaves were sent across the globe when it was announced that the 54-year-old (who charismatically brought the character Chandler to life) was found drowned in a jacuzzi at his home in California on October 28.

Collectively, in the immediate aftermath of Perry’s passing, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc issued a joint statement sharing their shock.

Now, the lion’s share of the cast of the beloved series (which remains one of the most successful shows) are pouring out their salutes to Perry individually.
