It looks like Mariah Carey will have the last laugh this Christmas. The diva’s new Holiday collection, ‘Merry Christmas II You’, has been experiencing increasing sales in the last 3 weeks and has rebounded to #14 with a 43% growth on the album charts. In fact, the record has sold over 60k copies this week, outselling the 56k that it sold when it debuted on the tally.

To date, ‘Merry Christmas II You’ has sold over 226k despite Carey only doing one live televised performance to promote the project. However, this recent success may be attributed to the record-breaking success of her ‘Oh Santa’ single which ascended to the #1 spot on the Adult Contemporary chart after only 2 weeks; the fastest rise of any song to top of that tally in history.

Things aren’t looking so ‘merry’ for Ne-Yo, though. After getting off to a surprisingly strong start on last week’s tally, the singer’s ‘Libra Scale’ LP has plummeted from #8 to #39, selling only a meager 29,209 copies (a 75% decrease from its initial 117k units sold).

Kanye West and Nicki Minaj also experienced a 2nd week slump was they both sold 106,003 (down 80%) and 102,395 (down 72%) copies respectively this week . Moreover, Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ barely hung onto the #10 position as it sold less than 70k units at retail outlets, bringing its total to an underwhelming 418k to date.

New albums on the lineup this week include Jazmine Sullivan’s ‘Love Me Back’ which enters at #15 with 57,325 sold and Chrisette Michele’s ‘Let Freedom Reign’ at the #24 spot with 43,874 in sales. Of course. Finally, the Black Eyed Peas ‘The Beginning’ had a disappointing debut with 117,066 copies sold, position it at #6.

Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Ne-Yo all have another reason to be thankful this year – their albums are all on track to exceed expectations. West’s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ is projected to sell 525k-575k based on first day sales figures, guaranteeing it the #1 spot on next week’s Billboard 200 tally.

Furthermore, despite rumours that stated differently, Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday’ is predicted to land in the #2 spot with 375k-425k copies sold during the next 7 days. This means that it will sell just shy of the 447k that Drake’s ‘Thank Me Later’ sold in its first week.

However, the real surprise come from Ne-Yo’s ‘Libra Scale’. The record is expected to sell 115k-140k without the assistance of any hit singles. Certainly, the singer’s string of promotional appearances and the Thanksgiving sales rush have given him a much needed boost.

Another notable projection is that of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Burlesque’ soundtrack which is expected to debut with 20k-50k depending on the success of the movie this weekend. Also, Ke$ha’s ‘Cannibal’ EP is set to enter the charts with 60k-70k copies sold.

Keri Hilson has finally set a concrete release date for her new album, ‘No Boys Allowed’. The record is due to hit stores on November 30th which, according to Amazon, will put it in direct competition with Ciara’s ‘Basic Instinct’ LP  which is being released on the same day. Expect credits on Hilson’s album to include Polow Da Don, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Kevin McCall and Timbaland among others.

Despite only releasing the video for current single ‘Breaking Point’ days ago, Keri Hilson is wasting no time announcing its follow-up ‘Pretty Girls’; apt given the fact the aforementioned isn’t necessarily setting the charts alight.

Jointly produced by Ne-Yo and Chuck Harmony, ‘Girls’ is set to hit iTunes on October 12 – meaning we should be hearing it any time from now. Peep the cover, via Rap-Up, above.

Hilson’s sophomore LP ‘No Boys Allowed’ is currently without a release date.

Kanye West has finally set a release date for his new album. The highly-anticipated LP, which has yet to be given a title, will hit stores on November 22nd. This means that the record will be made available during the same week as the Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday’ and Ne-Yo’s ‘Libra Scale’. However, Mr. West will continue his ‘G.O.O.D Friday’ release campaign until Christmas as promised.
