If there’s anything we’re hoping Iggy Azalea learned from the constant pushbacks of her sophomore album, ‘Digital Distortion,’ it’s to steer clear of promises.

For, after announcing a number of release dates for the project last year before ultimately announcing its shelving and eventual remodeling to ‘Surviving the Summer,’ the Grammy-nominated rapstress has kept most definite info surrounding its unveiling to a minimum while pacifying with the promissory, “it’s coming.”

As fans continue to quiz for details about ‘Summer’s status (i.e. release date, contributing producers, etc.), Azalea let them in on a little secret:  the project is not an LP, but an EP.  Moreover, the Quavo-assisted ‘Savior’ won’t be the only song on the set receiving the video treatment:

As we reported here, Jennifer Lopez unveiled her latest single – ‘El Anillo’ – via a fierce performance at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards (April 26).  Showing off her oft-envied footwork, the high octane outing only increased anticipation for the song’s accompanying music video (which premiered a day later).

With outlets around the world singing the songstress’s praises for the fashion-forward clip, Lopez is undoubtedly looking to see that fanfare reflected commercially as she continues its promotion.  The latest bid for ‘Anillo’s success came aboard a visit to ‘Entertainment Tonight’ to not only give fans a sneak peek behind the scenes but also dish on the meaning behind its lyrics.

From The Vault is back this week with a jam from 15-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys; today’s pick is ‘Doesn’t Mean Anything.’

After the gargantuan era that was ‘As I Am,’ the star didn’t waste time and released her fourth studio album ‘The Element Of Freedom’ in 2009.

‘Anything’ was issued as its first single. Lyrically, it followed the footsteps of her signature song ‘If I Ain’t Got You,’ with Keys claiming that all the material gains in the world don’t hold as much value if they can’t be shared with loved ones. Again, familiar terrain for the songbird.

Sonically, the cut can be considered a close sibling to her 2007 hit ‘No One’.

Produced by Alicia alongside former partner-in-crime Kerry “Krucial” Brothers, it didn’t fare as well as its predecessors in the US. For, it never scaled higher than #60 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Still, in Europe it was yet another Top 20 hit for A.K. Indeed, it became her seventh Top 10 in the UK after reaching #8; the same peak it enjoyed in Germany too. In France, the song  hit #17.

The P.R. Brown directed video skewed simple (yet effective); it saw Alicia leave everything behind and go in search of more. A metaphor for starting over and focusing on what truly matters.

**************

Given the length and breadth of her talent (together with her consistency), we’re more than ready for Alicia’s return.

With her last era (‘Here’), it was clear she aimed to re-assert herself as an “artiste”. The end product was a solid, cohesive album, but one that lacked the lightness than was sewn into the thread of past projects.

Sometimes looking back to map out the future is advantageous; as such we’d love to see Ms. Keys re-engage with sounds such as ‘Doesn’t Mean Anything,’ ‘Teenage Love Affair,’ ‘Put It In A Love Song,’ and even the polarizing ‘Girl On Fire.’ All with a fresh twist, of course.

With the world still catching its collective breath following Beyonce‘s epic Coachella performance, so too are the team of dancers she drafted in for the desert spectacle.

Jacques Bell, a Jamaican native who currently resides in Atlanta, was one of said talents recruited for the most talked about showcase of the year.

A professional dancer, choreographer, musician, and creative director, he performed alongside Queen Bey as a percussionist/member of her troop of dancers.

We caught up with him for a quick chat about the experience. Find out what he had to say below….

Despite an era marred by slams of being of a “culture vulture” and dismissive of hip hop history, rapper Post Malone‘s newest album – ‘beerbongs & Bentleys’ – is seeing little obstacle to slow its course to the top of the Billboard 200’s week after next.

His sophomore set – featuring the chart-topping hit ‘rockstar’ and lined with guest appearances from the likes of 21 Savage, Swae Lee, Nicki Minaj, Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy, and more – is already eligible for platinum certification thanks to some major streaming milestones it accomplished ahead of its April 27th debut.  As if those massive numbers weren’t enough, Spotify took to press over the weekend to confirm the project has shattered its one-day streaming records – a record, mind you, just set last week by fellow emcee J. Cole‘s ‘KOD’ album (click here to read more on that).

Click inside to see just how Malone achieved the feat and see how his overall success has also seen him threaten one of Whitney Houston‘s enduring chart records:
