Tiffany Haddish made history this evening as the first Black female comedian to host Saturday Night Live.

And the ‘Girls Trip’ breakout star sure seized the (long overdue) moment.

Starring in a slew of skits, the 37-year-old brought the funny and then some.

From the onset, she had the audience in her palm with her hilarious opening monologue and then proceeded on to star in almost every sketch of the night.

Without promo Taylor Swift‘s sixth album, ‘Reputation’ (in stores November 10), is anticipated to deliver her biggest first week sales to date.  As early reads indicate the set could move as many as 1.5 million units by next Friday (November 17) the set – in just one week – will most likely lay claim to the title of “2017’s top-seller” overall.

But, in a bid to push that already astronomical figure even higher, Swift and team are taking to the promo trail to spread awareness.  Her latest stop came courtesy of tonight’s Tiffany Haddish-hosted episode of ‘SNL.’

Sam Smith’s push for his long-awaited sophomore album, ‘The Thrill of It All,’ has seen him leave footprints on promo trails on both sides of the pond.

Stateside fans got to see him cover a host of magazines, hit ‘Ellen,’ and even drop by ‘SNL’ to deliver two show-stopping performances.  On this side of the pond, the Grammy winner was awarded his own BBC special (which aired November 9th).  Backed by the full BBC Concert orchestra, the 60-minute broadcast saw Smith croon out some of his biggest hits (‘Stay With Me,’ ‘Writing’s on the Wall,’ and more) while giving viewers tastes of new offerings found on his soon-to-be-#1 release ‘Thrill.’

Despite being her first traditional studio album to enter into Billboard 200 battle without a Hot 100 top 40 to precede it (see:  ‘Love So Soft’), Kelly Clarkson – courtesy of new album ‘Meaning of Life’ – continues to prove that she is still quite the force to be reckoned with.

Her inaugural release on new label home, Atlantic Records, this week saw ‘Meaning’ become her 8th consecutive top 3 debut on the Billboard 200.  Thanks to 79,000 equivalent album units sold (of which 68,000 were in pure sales), the set’s first week commercial performance was only bested by that of country star Kenny Chesney (who leads this week’s tally with 219,000 equivalent album units earned).

The feat is all the more impressive for Clarkson who, via ‘Meaning of Life,’ answered fan requests to deviate from her pop-rock sounding offers to return to more rhythmic/R&B/soul influenced sounds.  As congratulate the ‘American Idol’ alum and hope she continues in this sonic vein, see who joins her and Chesney in this week’s updated ‘Chart Check:  Billboard 200.’

Taylor Swift‘s made no secret of her love affair with hip hop.  From top charting duets with the likes of B.O.B. and Kendrick Lamar to being featured in an Apple Music commercial taking her best shot at Drake & Future‘s ‘Jumpman,’ the former country darling has filled her transition to pop with a number of odes to rap music.  Efforts found aboard her new album, ‘Reputation,’ sing the same tune.

Tapping ‘Jumpman’ creator Future to assist, the singer – with a little help from Ed Sheeran – has unleashed ‘End Game’ from the new project.  Together, Future & Sheeran (the only features on the album) help her sing:

“I want to be your end game/I want to be your first string / I want to be your A-team / I want to be your end game”

Alexandra Burke is amazing on the mic and is proving equally as arresting on the dance-floor.

The Brit-belter, who rose to fame as the winner of The X Factor after performing with Beyonce, is currently competing on the current series of the BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’

Much like the US’ ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ the series sees celebrities battle it out each week in a quest for the coveted ballroom trophy.

Oft commanding an audience of 10 million + each week, the show is renown for being a potent promotional platform and the real “win” tends to be for competitors careers.

With Alex readying new material, it’s smart timing. Especially as she’s slaying!

Watch her week 8 performance of the Argentine Tango with partner Gorka Marquez. Their song was ‘Mi Confession.’
