With awards season soon to be in full swing, the 2012 People’s Choice Awards is on its way and the latest to unveil their list of nominations. With performances to be confirmed in coming weeks, the ceremony is set to be held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater on January 11, 2012. And, with divas Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Adele leading the pack , we can see it is already shaping up to be quite the event.

One of the year’s hotly anticipated events, previous years have seen the MTV Europe Music Awards produce a number of show stopping performances from the likes of Beyonce, Katy Perry and Kanye West.

Other than Beyonce’s much discussed #1 debut, there are four other new arrivals in this week’s top ten of the Billboard 200. At No. 3, Kanye West-protege, rapper Big Sean’s full legnth debut, ‘Finally Famous: The Album’, comes in with 87,000 sold. Disney alum, and Justin Bieber’s significant other, Selena Gomez, bows in at No. 4, Selena Gomez & the Scene sold 78,000 copies of their third album ‘When the Sun Goes Down’. Ironically, season seven American Idol winner, David Cook arrives at No. 7 with his sophomore effort ‘This Loud Morning’ (46,000), while season 10’s champion Scotty McCreery’s five-song EP ‘American Idol Season 10 Highlights’ rounds out the top ten with 40,000 sold.
Pop heart-throb Justin Bieber features on the cover of Vanity Fair‘s February issue.
Speaking to the magazine about his hyperactivity, the 16 year old purveyor of Bieber-Fever said:
“Just the way my brain works. I’m not normal. I think differently—my mind is always racing. I’m just … nuts. But I think the best [musicians] probably are. “
Adding about his acute insomnia, he said:
“(I sit up at night thinking) about all the things I didn’t have time to think about during the day — like family and God …”

In other Bieber news, actress Selena Gomez has reportedly been receiving death threats after being snapped kissing the singer.
With 7 nominations to her credit for work found aboard her latest Spanish album, ‘Aguilera,’ Pop diva Christina Aguilera entered the 2022 Latin GRAMMYs Thursday night (November 17) as a top contender for some of the night’s biggest honors including Album and Record of the Year.
Ultimately walking away with the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album honor, Christina – defeating Sin Bandera‘s ‘Frecuencia,’ Fonseca‘s ‘Viajante,’ Marta Gomez‘s ‘Filarmonico 20 Anos,’ and Kurt‘s ‘La Vida’ for the win – nabbed the second Latin GRAMMY of her career. It comes over 20 years after her first triumph in the Best Female Pop Vocal Album for her inaugural Spanish-language release, 2000’s ‘Mi Reflejo.’
Accepting the new award wasn’t the only time Aguilera graced the stage at Las Vegas’ Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Thursday, however.

Fantasia is hitting the road!
The Rock-Soul vendor is gearing up for the release of her new holiday album ‘Christmas After Midnight‘ [due October 6th] and has announced a like-titled tour in support of the set.
Executive produced by Ron Fair, the project will see the American Idol winner put her spin on her favorite festive classics.
The trek, which is titled ‘Christmas After Midnight – A Holiday Concert,’ kicks off in November and will feature live renditions of songs from the LP as well as her biggest hits.
