As ever, all eyes are on the nominees for the latest instalment of the annual extravaganza, which this year airs from LA’s Microsoft Theater.

“An appetizer before the main course” are the words used by singer/songwriter/dancer Sevyn Streeter to describe her new 13-track EP ‘Shoulda Been There, Pt. 1.’  And, after one listen to the delectable collection of tunes, including the recently released title track with boyfriend/rapper B.O.B. and the carnival-inspired ‘Don’t Stop the Fun’ (featuring Chris Brown), we’re certain you’ll be hungrier than ever for what the talented beauty is serving up.

It’s a good time to Nicki Minaj right now.

As her ‘PinkPrint’ release has passed the Gold mark in the U.S. and etches closer to platinum, the rapper/singer/songwriter is also set to shine on the big screen via the third installment of the Ice Cube-led ‘Barbershop’ franchise.

Now, as if that isn’t enough to celebrate, all eyes are now on her as she has notched her 65th Hot 100 hit with the Meek Mill & Chris Brown-helmed ‘All Eyes On You.’  The chart triumph sees the rapstress slide in just a few steps closer to leading the pack of “most Hot 100 entries” by any female…of any genre (only Taylor Swift & Aretha Franklin have more as we reported here).

Elsewhere, charts reveal Swift isn’t the only country diva at risk of seeing her Hot 100 record threatened. For, in addition to setting a new chart record this week, Bruno Mars‘ monster hit ‘Uptown Funk’ is just two weeks away from upstaging Leann Rimes‘ ‘How Do I Live’ in a big way.

Exactly two weeks separate us from the 2015 BET Awards!

Airing live on June 28th, the 15th annual showing of Urban entertainment’s biggest night is set to be hosted by ‘black-ish’ stars Tracee Ellis Ross & Anthony Anderson and (to date) has seen Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, and Chris Brown announced among stars tapped to hit the stage.

But, per usual, BET is saving for last its announcement of who will be the recipient of the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.  Already listing legendary acts like Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Prince, and Lionel Richie among its honorees, the 2015 trophy has been shrouded in murmurs that pop queen Janet Jackson will be its designated awardee.  But, that hasn’t stopped fans of other music royals – Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige, King of R&B R. Kelly, or Queen of Rock N’ Soul Tina Turner – from vying and eyeing the prize.

After seeing singles from her first two albums secure a whole lotta love from Top 40 radio, Nicki Minaj has looked on as her latest offering, ‘The Pinkprint’, struggles to see similar success on the format.

We doubt she cares though.

For, the Hip-Hop flavoured set has seen its singles catch and collect numerous Gold and Platinum certifications without it and has now seen her surpass Urban heavy weights Beyonce & Rihanna on Urban radio.

Drake‘s surprise album ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late‘ has seen him match a ‘Billboard Hot 100’ record set by the Beatles this month, surpassing efforts made by the likes of Taylor Swift, Jay Z, Beyonce and Rihanna after he placed 14 songs on the chart…at the same time.
