Academy, EMMY, and TONY Award-winning actress Viola Davis may be used to getting nothing but rave reviews for her acting performances, but – as she’s finding out with her portrayal of former First Lady Michelle Obama aboard Showtime’s ‘The First Lady’ – even the best aren’t exempt from criticism.

Since the limited series’ April 17 premiere, viewers have taken to social media in droves to express their disappointment in Davis’ depiction of Obama – with some even branding her endeavor, chock full of exaggerative facial expressions and pursed lips, as ‘mockery.’

During a recent interview with BBC News, Viola waxed honest about the feedback.  Deeming some of the comments ‘incredibly hurtful,’ look inside to hear what else she said about the negative reaction.

This week it was revealed that, after eight seasons on the air, ‘The Real’ has been canceled.

The confirmation of the Fox talk show’s end arrived on the heels of rampant speculation, which saw the news of its axing preempted to the point that some of the cast were forced to address the matter – seemingly before a firm decision had even been made.

With the fate of the series finalized, anchor Loni Love has opened up about the cancelation and shared insights into some of what was transpiring behind the scenes.

AMC’s new show, ’61st Street,’ has stormed onto screens and already has viewers gripped.

Emmy Award winner Courtney B. Vance toplines the two-season event – which is executive produced by Michael B. Jordan by way of his Outlier Society production company, David Shanks, and BAFTA-winner Peter Moffat (who also created the series).

’61st Street’ uncovers the underbelly of the infamous Chicago criminal justice system; it follows the police and prosecutor investigation of a deadly drug bust that threatens to unravel the cop code of silence.

Vance leads the all-star cast, which includes Oscar-nominee Aunjanue Ellis, Brit Tosin Cole, Mark O’Brien, and Holt McCallany.

Ahead of its premiere, That Grape Juice‘s Lettija Lee sat down with Vance, who opened up in earnest about the show in earnest as well as his exciting plans for the future.

’61^st Street’ airs Tuesdays at 9pm on AMC, which is exclusive to BT TV customers in the UK.

With over 500 awards to her credit, Beyoncé sits in history books as the most-awarded living act in all of entertainment.

Having already conquered the GRAMMYs as its most-decorated singer to date (28 wins), Bey’s stride toward EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) status was expected to take a leap in the right direction Sunday night (March 27) as the diva earned acclaim for delivering her first Academy Award performance for a song she was nominated for.

By the night’s end, however, it was her beloved fan group (the #Beyhive) who was making the delivery – a set of stings to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for awarding the golden statuette to Billie Eilish‘s ‘No Time to Die.’

All roads lead to April 29 for the funnywomen toplining Showtime’s highly anticipated series, ‘I Love That For You.’

Less than a week after Jussie Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail for a hoax hate crime against himself, the embattled singer-actor has already seen his short stay behind bar riddled with controversy.

First, his brother – Jocqui Smollett – took to social media to reveal the former ‘Empire’ star was placed under psychiatric care from fear of ‘self-harm’ despite the 39-year-old’s court outburst to assert the contrary.

Next, the #FreeJussie movement took flight and saw names like Academy & EMMY Award nominee Taraji P. Henson among the notable names on board.

Now, the initiative’s charging full steam ahead with Jussie’s defense team mounting a list of reasons why he needs to be freed immediately.
