Mary Carey‘s name shines all year round, yet this holiday season the festive feline is adding a hint of shimmer with an exclusive make-up range for M.A.C.

The seasoned diva fronts the campaign for the aptly titled Mariah Carey Holiday Collection.

Ensuring to add a personal touch, many of the items that populate the range take on names of her songs.

Also, in the newly released commercial – which sees Mimi being well…Mimi – the song ‘Supernatural’ (from 2014’s ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse’) features.

We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.

In a letter sent to Dr. Clarence Gamble in 1939, Margaret Sanger penned the line above to detail her plans to build ‘The Negro Project’, a collaboration between she and the American Birth Control league to make abortion available to the oppressed African-American community.

How she planned to execute her vision?

It seems to me from my experience…that while the colored Negroes have great respect for white doctors they can get closer to their own members and more or less lay their cards on the table which means their ignorance, superstitions and doubts.

We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal.

Why any of this is relevant today?

The KKK-approved Sanger was the founder of ‘Planned Parenthood’, the organisation Nick Cannon and millions around the world believe uses its healthcare services to reduce the size of minority populations via abortion.

Over 18 years after the release of their history-making hit, ‘The Boy Is Mine,’ fans of R&B divas Brandy and Monica are still pitting the two against each other in online forums and more.

After B-rocka absolutely rocked the Soul Train Awards stage with a medley of her biggest hits(see that here if you missed it), some viewers found Mo’s absence alarming when the melody to the 1998 hit was played.  Afterward, as support rang through social media for the 37-year-old songstress, some thought to direct their attention to Mo for alleged “shade” detected during the Soul Train showing (from Bran).

Find out how Mo responded to the hoopla below:

‘Needed Me,’ the third single from chart-topping diva Rihanna‘s eighth album, ‘Anti,’ has a unique place in her hit-filled discography.

Coming as her 29th top 10 single, the tune – with a peak of #7 (to date) – has already entered history books for spending 16 weeks in the top 10 and, as a result, logging the longest run in the Hot 100’s upper dectet by any song that never entered the top 5.

Jumping to #32 on this week’s chart, Rih’s latest rhythmic hit can now lay claim to another unique historical feat.  Find out what it is:

For many, the heights reached made by R&B icons Brandy and Monica in Pop culture makes them two of the world’s more endearing stars.

What isn’t so endearing however is the reheating of their two decade long beef.

As Phaedra Parks uses the ninth season of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ to support the victims of the Flint Water Crisis, some of her cast mates have opted to use the platform to front more unscrupulous endeavours.

Two of these, rather unfortunately, are Todd Tucker and Peter Thomas, husbands of ‘Housewives’ Kandi Burruss and Cynthia Bailey.

For, perhaps in retaliation for remarks Parks has made about them during their run on the series, the supporting characters reached a new low with hopes of a ratings high by introducing Sherien Almufti to the series.

Why it was a new low?

Almufti’s alleged affair with Parks’ husband Apollo Nida.

Lady Gaga‘s rise to fame was meteoric to say the least.  But, with the adoration of her infectious pop tunes, larger-than-life stage shows, and eccentric costumes came the peril of never being able to “turn the character off.”

“I’d keep the wigs on and keep the makeup on and keep the outfits on. I was always trying — I never wanted to let my fans down. I always wanted them to see me in my art form.”

As if that’s not enough, the ‘Judas’ singer laments how fame has intruded on her private life.

“As soon as I go out into the world, I belong, in a way, to everyone else. It’s legal to follow me. It’s legal to stalk me at the beach. I can’t call the police or ask them to leave. “

After years of being unable to reconcile her two worlds, the balance between “Lady Gaga” (the character) and Stephanie Germanotta (her real life persona), she says, is best represented by who she is now during this – her most recent chart-topping era – ‘Joanne.’

Watch her emotional full length interview with CBS ‘Sunday Morning’ discussing these aforementioned topics and more below:
