Fame. It is earned by people for either remarkable achievement or scandalous behaviour. However, for Chris Brown it occurs as a result of both.

Whether being praised for his brilliant live performances or scolded for his notorious actions, Brown has been the focus of media attention since his debut. However, the entertainer has managed to channel these pressures into a body of work that may very well be his best album to date.

Aptly entitled ‘F.A.M.E’, the 13-track LP demonstrates the versatility of an artist who, regardless of the tabloid headlines, has both the talent and passion to become a lasting figure in the music industry.

The 1st major chart battle of 2011 is finally here! However, this is a showdown with a twist as it will take place between 2 completely different types artists – Jennifer Hudson and Chris Brown.

Hudson’s ‘I Remember Me’ serves as the singer’s 2nd studio album, following her gold-certified self-titled debut LP which was released in 2008. The record, which includes credits from Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, R. Kelly and Dianna Warren, has received generally positive reviews from critics across the board.

On the other side of the spectrum, Brown’s ‘F.A.M.E’ album is already being heralded as the year’s comeback project to watch. Preceded by the worldwide smash ‘Yeah 3x’ and the unexpected hit ‘Deuces (Ft. Tyga & Kevin McCall)’, the collection comprises a blockbuster lineup of collaborators such as Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber.

So which album will you buy? Will you support the vocal gymnastics of Hudson’s traditional R&B offering or the high-octane R&B/Pop club collection of Brown? Vote below and, for those of you who already heard the albums, let us know what you think!

Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey visited ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ in 1998 to promote the animated film ‘The Prince of Egypt’ and delivered the 1st televised performance of the Academy Award-winning track ‘When You Believe’. Fast forward 13 years and the rendition is remembered as one of the most memorable moments in television history thus making it a great choice for From The Vault.

Although many argue that this song was shockingly underwhelming considering the vocal gymnastics for which both women are known, it is obvious that there isn’t a single artist today who can compare to Houston and Carey. Indeed, some singers hay have expansive vocal ranges while other have technical skill but none of them have such a combination of both.

Watching this performance does encourage the question of why Houston and Carey have not performed (or even been seen) together in over a decade. While both women have long since passed their prime, to witness a reunion of the industry’s most celebrated divas would truly be a sight to behold.
