In recent times, there has been a shocking shortage of male performers in the Pop landscape.

Indeed, with trend chasers embracing the minimalist mantra that seems to be all the rage these days, choreographed acts have been on the wane.

22-year-old Jordan Fisher aims to turn the tide with his unique blend of the fresh and familiar.

A multi-dimensional talent, the Alabama native rose to prominence in Disney’s ‘Teen Beach’ movie series and, more recently ‘Grease: Live.’ Now, he aims to breakout as an adult star with his first ever single ‘All About Us.’

The video for the dance-floor jam has been receiving booming buzz since its debut last month and with ripe reason.

Fisher juxtaposes 2016 simplicity with the same brand of dynamic that made the likes of Usher, Justin Timberlake, and Chris Brown the phenomenons they are.

The clip’s choreography, courtesy of Wildabeast and Janelle Ginestra, evokes an effortlessly cool and serves as a powerful reminder that the art of performance can still resonate in today’s climate.

With a growing fanbase, is Fisher about to be the music’s next big thing? Watch the video above and let us know!

Christina Milian‘s debut single ‘AM To PM’ serves as this week’s From The Vault pick. Join us as we journey back in time to when the beauty was one of her generation’s most promising up-and-comers.

Produced by Swedish maestros Bloodshy & Avant and written by the then-19 year old in 2001, it was the first taste of her self-titled debut.

With its Pop-Urban flavor, it introduced the masses to the singer “Christina Milian” as opposed to the MTV VJ. It reached the 27th spot of the Hot 100 in the US and #3 in the UK.

‘AM’s visual was helmed by director extraordinaire Dave Meyers and featured Milian scheming her way out from the family home to go party with her friends. Honing in on the era’s near necessity for “performance,” the clip boasted synchronised choreography and a dynamite dance-break too. All very early 00s.

Granted the whole affair was coated in dollops of Disney realness, it made for wholly enjoyable (and memorable) video.

Ms Milian never quite became the Pop star she was poised to be; which is a shame if you ask us. She ticks all the boxes requisite for break-out stars at the time – radio-ready music, serviceable vocals, a stunning look and engaging visuals.

Still, when all is said and done, the one thing that C. Mili is not is a flop – as evidenced by her arguable omnipresence in music, TV, and cinema.

Rita Ora‘s legal wrangle with Roc Nation has finally reached a settlement.

As reported, the ‘Body On Me’ belter took the Jay Z imprint to court last December for stifling her music career.

According to docs filed in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old argued that the company’s increasingly diversified business dealings had an adverse affect on the release of her album – which has yet to hit retail.

Her team asserted that the Roc’s move into sports management and its emergence as its own label (under the Universal umbrella) effectively left her – as a Sony Music artist – orphaned. She added that she would regularly finance recording sessions with her own money earned from the various ventures she’s involved in thanks to her management. A separate entity from Roc Nation.

Interestingly, the company slapped a countersuit on Ora – claiming that it is they who are owed money (over $1 million) for their investment in her. A move Ora’s team played down after insisting that Jay Z had personally agreed to grant the singer her release. They added, at the time, that the countersuit was merely a strategic play to cover backs – at both Roc and Sony, who jointly released her music.

Whatever the case, the issue now appears to be resolved.
