Iggy Azalea made headlines this week when it emerged that she penned a letter of support for Tory Lanez ahead of his sentencing for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

Convicted in December 2022, Lanez was handed a 10-year sentence after being found guilty for his role in the July 2020 incident.

After receiving ample backlash for her supporting the disgraced Canadian star, Azalea claimed she wasn’t “supporting” him (in the literal sense) and didn’t know that her letter was for the judge’s eyes only.

Well, the letter is now on public record and has surfaced online.

And, upon reading, it’s clear that Azalea went to bat (hard) for her embattled friend.

Queen of NeoSoul Erykah Badu has apparently made a royal enemy of media personality DJ Akademiks.

Six years after likening the embattled Web star to “Jerry the Mouse” of the classic cartoon series ‘Tom & Jerry,’ Akademiks (born Livingston Allen) is still feeling a way about the insult – a status he made clear during a recent Rumble stream while discussing the sentencing of Tory Lanez.

“I never f**ked with Erykah Badu after she was tryna come on my show and be funny,” he said Tuesday (August 8) in response to a comment that referenced the GRAMMY winner. “B**ch, I don’t f**k with you after that. N**ga, wassup now? What we finna do? B**ch, you an old a** h**. [You] just keep getting f**ked by all these young n**gas.”

Sending his name to viral status on Twitter in the hours that followed, look inside to see how Erykah responded to the hoopla.

Steve Lacy has carved out quite the space for himself in the music industry, recently rocketing to #1 with mainstream breakthrough ‘Bad Habit.’

And while much of the spotlight has been centered on his artistry, his sexuality was scrutinized during the promotion of his debut project ‘Steve Lacy’s Demo.’

Casually speaking with fans on Tumblr at the time, he was quizzed on whether he would date a man. His reply, “sure, why not,” ignited a wave of headlines to the tune of “Steve Lacy Comes Out as Bisexual.”

The flames were intensified in a less favorable direction when, in a further response on the same thread, Lacy (whose Mom is Afro-American and Father is d Filipino) said the following about dating Black men:

“I’m just not attracted to Black boys. … I still love them and want them to do well in life, we just won’t date.”

In the time since, the attention of the masses has been more centered on Lacy’s musical output.

However, in a new Variety feature, he doesn’t shy away from the topic at large.
