Britney Spears is back at it!

The Pop siren has returned to the lab to commence work on her ninth studio album.

In a fresh pic shared with fans, the ‘Crazy’ hitmaker posed it up with writers Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels.

The pair have helmed hits such as Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry,’ as well as songs for Fifth Harmony and Gwen Stefani (‘Used To Love You’).

Spears captioned the snap:

Working hard and hardly working…new album…wheeeee!

One is the year’s biggest success story, the other has experienced the polar opposite.

Adele‘s out of the gate triumph with new single ‘Hello’ has many an artist running a mile from the undoubtable avalanche that will be its parent album – ’25.’

According to a new report, Rihanna is one of said stars who’s projects have been scattered into disarray in light of the British belter’s return.

Fans and critics alike have asserted this to be the case, but now a reputable industry source is alleging it true.

It’s Adele season! As such, as the release of new album ’25’ draws near, the singer is covering all bases. The latest is the front of Rolling Stone magazine.

Though the accompanying feature story has yet to surface, the cover itself has. Check it out above.

The coveted RS spot arrives as the British megastar gears up for a whirlwind few weeks, which will culminate in two televised TV specials – one for the BBC and another for NBC during Thanksgiving Week.

’25,’ which is tipped to hit 2 million in US sales first week, hits stores November 20th via Columbia/XL.

Janet Jackson has much to smile about.

The diva topped the charts with her comeback album ‘Unbreakable’ last month and has been selling out shows on its accompanying world tour.

Joy in Janet’s private life has clearly been a great source of warmth for her her too.

Married to billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana since 2012, the singer seemed keen to share their love with a new Instagram selfie backstage at the Minneapolis stop of her ‘Unbreakable World Tour.’ She posted the snap above with the caption:

Feels so good to be home
My baby and me!

Ariana Grande fans haven’t been as feverish about new ‘Focus’ as perhaps hoped.

Released last week, the track was always set for a David vs Goliath showdown with Adele’s unstoppable hit ‘Hello.’

However, it currently sits at #5 on iTunes – behind two Justin Bieber songs as well as Drake’s still blazing ‘Hotline Bling.’

Though obviously early days, the track’s arguable under-performance (see: lead single from a new album) has many of the “Arianators” ready for what else the singer’s ‘Moonlight’ LP has in store.

Responding to a curious fan, Grande revealed that supporters may have to wait some time to hear more…

Comically, Rihanna is currently serving as a key adviser on The Voice.

The coveted slot seems tailor made for the model, less so because of her vocal chops but moreso because it keeps her name in the media mix while she figures her way out of the mess that has been her ‘ANTI’ campaign.

Still, Rihanna and anything vocals related was always going to provide a chuckle. Case in point her “performance” of Amy Winehouse‘s 2007 ‘Back to Black.’

Tinashe turns all the way up in the video ‘Player.’

The Chris Brown assisted cut is the lead single from the 23-year-old hotly anticipated sophomore album ‘Joyride’ which now has a confirmed release date of January 8th next year.

In an era where streams impact chart positions, Tinashe and her RCA comrade deliver a clip with ample replay value. Indeed, they dance up a storm and get dangerously close – which only adds to the titillation.

The last twelve months have seen Sam Smith become ubiquitous on music charts across the globe – thanks largely to his Grammy winning debut ‘In The Lonely Hour.’

Following the set’s gargantuan success, the crooner is repackaging the project for a deluxe re-release sub-titled the ‘Drowning Shadows Edition.’

Due November 6th, little was known about the beefed up re-issue beyond its inclusion of acoustic takes on Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’ and Amy Winehouse’s ‘Love Is A Losing Game.’

However, tonight on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 radio show, 23-year old Smith premiered new number ‘Drowning Shadows.’

The British star described the track as “the saddest song I’ve ever written and probably the least radio-friendly song I’ve ever written.” He interestingly penned the cut before the hits that made him a household name, yet couldn’t find the right production to fit it.

Upon deciding to re-release the LP, he re-visited the song with his pianist and opted for a simple piano-led backdrop.

Take a listen below…
