Madonna‘s ‘Rebel Heart Tour’ kicked off on September 9th at Canada’s Bell Centre much to the delight of her fiercely loyal fan base.

No doubt aware that her new live show would be compared to that of her old rival’s Janet Jackson the ‘Frozen’ chanteuse delivered a set whipped up to promote the tour’s supporting album by placing its material at the heart of its concepts.

Fortunately, that didn’t stop her from honouring the older songs in her discography with performances her fans hope will win over critics currently enamoured by Jackson’s ‘Unbreakable’ showings.

How she did it?

Blink and you miss it.

Mariah Carey may been paid mega-bucks for her starring role in the latest ‘Game of War’ commercial, hence we’re scratching our heads as to why she’s literally in it for a mere matter of seconds.

The ‘We Belong Together’ belter, who succeeds former face Kate Upton, appears just once in the minute long spot – which sees words from her hit ‘Hero’ replayed several times.

We’re struggling to see the point. But, hey, get money Mimi!

It’s rare that Tamar Braxton holds her tongue about any topic. However, it’s emerged that the R&B belle has been maintaining a silence of sorts surrounding her new album ‘Calling All Lovers.’

Originally set to hit stores on September 11th, the project has instead put up for pre-order on said day and a new release date of October 2nd was confirmed by retailers. New song ‘Catfish’ was then immediately serviced to digital outlets.

Well, according to Tamar, she only found out about the switch when everyone else did. Awkward.com.

Check out her full message below, which strongly hints at drama behind the scenes.

The sky is blue.

The square root of 64 is 8.

That Grape Juice.net is the best website of all time.

For many, if not everyone, the statements above are simply facts of life.

Unfortunately, Dawn Richard seems to have been partial to a little fiction recently when she claimed that she didn’t understand why so many “black people” compare her vocal stylings to those of her R&B sibling Brandy.

Given Rihanna‘s glaring lack of talent, it’s little wonder why the social media maven is relying on publicity stunts to drum up buzz.

This weekend the 27-year-old was snapped making out with rapper Travis Scott at New York Fashion Week…and surprise surprise..one day later a new Puma promo snap of the pair has surfaced.

In light of the disorganised disaster that has been Rih’s musical output this year, we can’t even blame her for digging into her box of tricks to keep her name in the mix.

This week From The Vault journey’s back ten years to 2005 when rapstress Trina was making waves in the female rap landscape with her sassy brand of bravado.

Today’s pick is the Kelly Rowland assisted ‘Here We Go.’

Released as the second and final single from the Miami maven’s third studio album, ‘The Glamorest Life,’ the track serves as her highest charting release (as a lead act) and one of Rowland’s most successful solo appearances on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song – which sampled Force M.D’s hit ‘Tender Love’ (crafted by Jam & Lewis) – peaked at #17 on the Hot 100 and impacted the top 20 in major music markets such as the UK and Australasia. A sizeable achievement given how few female rappers have enjoyed commercial success internationally (’til this day).

Beyond the Jim Jonsin cut’s catchy sing-along-song chorus, its video is also touted as a major catalyst for its Gold certified success.

Directed by Nick Quested, the clip takes a literal approach to the song’s lyrics and relays the tale of a lady (Trina) who “can’t take no more” and kicks her no good boo to the curb while looking all sorts of stylish doing so.

The budget wasn’t big, but the accessible and relatable narrative was enough to garner the visual ample play on BET’s 106 & Park where it was a mainstay.

**************

Much of Trina’s underrated discography boasts racy numbers that would make even the most liberal minded blush. Yet, we feel it was the more vulnerable side shown here that made the release not only refreshing but still relevant ’til this day.  Needless to say, we’re hitting replay!

DID YOU KNOW: Teedra Moses appears on the demo for the song singing what became Kelly Rowland’s parts. Click here to listen to her version.

Even at her worst Rihanna resides above the rest on many fronts.

Alas, according to her fans, the same cannot be said about her on a romantic tip. For, after “going public” with her romance with the artist Travis Scott the gifted superstar has been rocked by supporters who have slammed the relationship.

Why? Shocking tweets published by one of his collaborators.
