Rap rookie J. Cole is celebrating the release of his inaugural LP today.  The set, ‘Cole World:  A Sideline Story’, has been met with favorable reviews from fans and critics alike.  Preceded by ‘Can’t Get Enough’ and the soon-to-be-released Missy Elliott-assisted ‘Nobody’s Perfect’, Cole’s debut  is certainly set to make a dent on charts next week.

While his promo rounds have seen him grace many-a-print or web feature (i.e. Billboard, Rolling Out, etc), most recently the emcee was seen in the October issue of hip-hop publication ‘The Source’.

After stopping by in the city of London to shoot the video for the single ‘Criminal‘ and promote its supporting album, Britney Spears treated fans in Moscow last night to her well publicized  ‘Femme Fatale Tour‘ showing.

The tour which is currently on its European leg, recently broke records when it was confirmed that it had grossed  $6.2 million within the first ten dates of its North American leg.

Jennifer Hudson has seen herself in many-a-headline this week.  Aside from announcing the 3rd single to be lifted from her sophomore album ‘I Remember Me’, the songstress has been receiving quite the reviews from her depiction of famed South African activist Winnie Mandela in the new biopic ‘Winnie’.  The poster for the upcoming flick, seen above, was recently unveiled.

JLS are famed for riding…their way to the top of the charts, and will no doubt be hoping to do so with their latest single ‘Take A Chance On Me’ – the cover for which was revealed this weekend.

The shot, which features the guys perched atop of of four colourful bikes, veers into comical territory when members Aston and Oritse are viewed insolation. Indeed, erase JB and Marvin (front), and you’ve got the cover of something altogether quite different.

Still, I doubt the boys are hung up on such particulars; the song sounds like their tried-and-tested hit formula. As such should nab a solid position on the Official UK Singles Chart – deserved or not.

Fans all over the world take a collective sigh of relief as Ebony magazine has unveiled the alternate Mary J. Blige cover for its October issue.  Regal indeed, the Queen of Hip Hop Soul shines on the simplistic cover.  With fans and non-fans alike lending mixed reviews of the original cover, here’s hoping this second-go-round satiates the critics.

For, as evidenced by the behind the scenes video, there were mountains of better shots to choose from.  We’re just glad they at least picked one.

Jojo may be singing about disasters these days, but you are about to witness one.  As has been making its rounds around the blog-o-sphere, a host of has-beens have joined forces to create what is certifiably a historic hot mess of a video.  Led by ‘Grind On Me’ group Pretty Ricky, the visual for ‘Knocking Off Your Heels’, said to be the lead single from their upcoming BlueStars 2 (due early 2012), features legendary R&B group Jodeci and 90s R&B bad boys H-Town.

While fans of all three groups have noticed their collective absences from charts and radio alike, view of this visual may concern and confirm that even more absence is yet to come.
