Gospel princess Kierra Sheard is looking for 2013 to launch her already established career into the stratosphere.

Yes, she has had many-a-hit reign atop Billboard’s gospel chart, but now the soaring songstress has tapped top hitmakers Rodney Jerkins, Babyface and songwriter TC (Brandy, Tamar Braxton) to help map the sounds set to nest on her sixth album.

Already teasing behind the scenes looks at its creation via her hit BET reality show ‘The Sheards’ (and recent live performances), now Miss Sheard introduces ‘Trumpets Blow’ – the thumping Jerkins/TC crafted number setting the net ablaze for gospel and secular fans.

Keri Hilson is still cooking up her third studio album, however the R&B belle took a brief break to whip up  something quite different.

Hitting Instagram, the ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ singer shared a snap of herself making renown African dish “Fufu”. She wrote with post:

“making fufu is a reaaal workout! gotta put your back into it”

The pic will do little to quell speculation that Hilson is currently dating Congolese NBA star Serge Ibaka. That said, given that our main concern is the music rather than the romance, we’re ready for Ms. Keri to serve up that new LP. She recently told That Grape Juice that the as yet untitled set will feature production from longtime collaborators Timbaland and Polow Da Don.

Peep some of our favourite Keri moments below because we feel like it…

This week will see old foes/contemporary rivals Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez hit Pop’s shores with brand new music, lifted from their respective new albums.

In teaching their younger chart staples a thing or two in how to promote a release, the ladies’ quest for commercial relevancy in today’s market has seen them craft campaigns worthy of their celebrity and their stock as entertainers.

In short, they’re out for blood.

Now, as we gear up to enjoy both releases, we ask….

Whose single are you looking forward to the most?

Justin Timberlake has already seen his latest album ’20/20 Experience’ open to blockbuster sales and continue chart dominance nearly two months since its release, but now the pop prince is looking to extend his reign to another tally – box offices.

Indeed, the singer/actor is set to take his talents to screens once more with the film ‘Spinning Gold’ – the story of recording industry icon Neil Bogart.  Bogart, whose illustrious career saw him launch or guide the early careers of legends Curtis Mayfield, Gladys Knight, KISS, The Village People, and many more, will have his story told by son Timothy Scott Bogart.

Producers tapped for the film are Mark Damon (“Monster”), Laurence Mark (“Dreamgirls”), and more.

No tentative release date has been announced.

If reports are to be believed, America’s favorite alien crimefighters ‘Men In Black’ may be donning their black suits once more for a new installment of action.

With stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones presumed to be at the forefront of the action and director Barry Sonnenfeld in tow, word has it Sony has already tapped screenwriter Oren Uziel to script part 4 of the series and that it won’t take a decade to surface like its predecessor (which nearly grossed $200 million in North American box offices alone and $445 million abroad).

Lauryn Hill is back!

The iconic songstress unwrapped new song ‘Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)’ moments ago.

Not quite the triumphant comeback with the PR bells and whistles attached, the release -or at least its timing-has more to do with Hill’s current court case.

For, as earlier reported, longtime label Sony Music swooped in to save the revered singer by leveraging her outstanding tax debts against a new deal which sees her get her own imprint at the industry giant. Christened Obverse Creation Music, the first offering from the venture is ‘Neurotic’ which was silently released to iTunes within the hour.

Hill’s reasonings for the release and the song itself await after the jump…
