Just days after the announcement that ‘Lip Gloss’ rapstress Lil’ Mama was set to shine in the role of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes and actress/singer Drew Sidora is to portray T-Boz in a forthcoming TLC biopic, now reports have surfaced that actress/singer Keke Palmer has been cast as Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas….
Rihanna furthered the reach of her brand last night, when she arrived at London’s ‘Old Sorting Office’ for the launch of her River Island backed clothing line.
Welcomed with positive reviews, the high street line’s debut marked the latest fashion outing from the ‘No Love Allowed’ stunner, who launched her first reality TV show ‘Styled To Rock’ last year.
As reported here, today will see ‘Girl On Fire’ Alicia Keys blaze the NBA All Star Game Halftime Show with a medley of hits, much like her 2010 showing.

As reported here, multi-octave songbird Mariah Carey is hoping to take flight up charts again with her newest single due Tuesday (February 19).
Entitled ‘Almost Home’, the Stargate produced track comes as the lead single from Disney’s highly anticipated ‘Oz: The Great And Powerful’ soundtrack and will also see MC collaborate with longtime friend/photographer David LaChapelle for its accompanying visual.

Arriving at the 77th Annual Academy Awards with then fiancee Jay Z, the night saw the 24 year old perform a total of three times, honouring three of the nominated songs with her own unique takes on them- the best of these being her cover of the Andrew Lloyd Webber penned, ‘Learn To Be Lonely‘.
However, while the above marked her strongest performance, it was her take on the ‘Les Choristes’ number ‘Look To Your Path (Vois Sur Ton Chemin)’ that stands as her most interesting.

If ‘Suit & Tie’ is the beginning of R&B’s resurgence on charts, let’s hope that acts like Corey Mekell are part of the new school that resuscitate interest the genre. For, as the young crooner’s Youtube page evidences, he’s certainly got what it takes to do so.
Lending a very radio friendly sound to his original and cover jobs, Mekell is giving us a much needed mix of style and substance with his offerings – one that we are certainly not mad at! Kudos to Mekell!
