Say hello to Jennah Bell.

The name may indeed ring a bell for viewers of the 2012 BET Awards as she was chosen as this year’s ‘Music Matters’ pick – an outlet that gave the soulstress her first nationally televised chance to showcase her unique blend of “folk-soul”.  Dripping with R&B fusion, Bell’s refreshing blend of genres is reminiscent of ‘Southern Hummingbird’ Tweet, yet housed in an innocence reminiscent of Corrine Bailey Rae.

Despite all she is likened to, it’s safe to say what Jennah is bringing is indeed all her own as evidenced by her long awaited ‘Monster Killer’ visual.  Directed by Rafael Casal, the single comes as one of many gems listed on ‘Live at Mother NY’ EPClick here to stream that full album.

Once again the popular social media outlet Twitter has proven itself a battleground for ‘Trust & Believe’ belter Keyshia Cole.  As some know, the past two days have seen the Oakland born beauty on the defense after she launched a verbal attack against KMEL 106 – a Californian radio station.

The station, which sponsors the annual holiday-themed showing ‘Holiday House of Soul Concert’, reportedly contacted the songstress to inform her she would be the opening act for up-and-coming R&B hitmaker The Weeknd.  The result of which saw Cole, who previously believed she was the headliner, cancel her appearance at the concert.

When rumors swirled that the radio station continued to use Cole’s likeness in advertisements (despite her cancellation), what happened next saw the ‘Let It Go’ hitmaker go on a rampage via her Twitter page:

What a tangled web the chart system weaves.

For, in what some might put down to ignorance, chart systems the world over still seem to be under the impression that ‘black’ acts fall under the umbrella of  ‘urban’ by default….even when those acts aren’t supported by urban radio.

Now, by way of this controversial system, Def Jam singer Rihanna has spent her 11th week atop Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart with her Pop number, ‘Diamonds’.
