Though we’d say Janelle Monae’s ‘The Electric Lady’ deserves it more, there’s no doubt Ciara‘s self titled new LP stands a strong chance of picking up the ‘Best R&B Album’ award at the 54th Annual Grammys next year.

Indeed, if nominated in the category would be sure to benefit from the press doing so would garner and push its sales to higher ground- handing the project a fresh pair of promotional legs.

However, before that happens, creatives from across the globe have taken to YouTube in their thousands to celebrate the LP’s strongest Pop number, ‘Overdose‘- well before the release of its supporting music video!

The singer is in full plugging mode for chart-topping album ‘ARTPOP’, with her most recent stop being ABC’s Thanksgiving special  – ‘Lady GaGa & the Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular’.

Ever out-of-the-box, the telecast saw Mother Monster perform select cuts from the LP alongside Kermit, Miss Piggy, and co, as well as RuPaul, Elton John, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Iggy Azalea‘s long-promised album ‘The New Classic’ has yet to hit shelves, however that hasn’t halted the fiery femcee’s hustle.

The Aussie-bred rapper, who recently opened for Beyonce on ‘The Mrs Carter Show’, stopped by the ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ last night to perform current single ‘Change Your Life’.

As she’s proved on numerous occasions, Ashanti‘s arrival is- and will always remain- one of the best ‘things’ to happen to and for R&B.

Generating a crossover appeal that earned her endorsements and appearances that embedded her deep into the general public’s psyche, there’s no doubt the singer’s success served as somewhat of a blueprint for a then 21 year old Beyonce and her then manager Mathew Knowles.

Alas, without the infrastructure that was Murder Inc. to sustain that appeal, Ashanti now finds herself cast to the sidelines while acts she once inspired create legacies far more celebrated than their own. Legacies, built and created by the major label systems the singer is in dire need of, but continues to reject.
