Katy Perry certainly earned her share of accolades in the past year.  While Adele was rolling over the competition with her now-classic album ’21’, Perry was dominating foes on the singles front.  Notching 6 top 10s (5 of which went to #1) from her number 1 album ‘Teenage Dream’, Mrs. Brand ended her year with a bang by landing multiple Grammy nominations.

While she’s announced to fans that her next album will not be so swiftly forthcoming, it is certain that her other business ventures (movies, fragrances, singles) will keep her afloat well into 2012.  For now, Barbara Walters’ annual ’10 Most Fascinating People’ lists Perry as one of its occupants.  The accompanying interview, which aired tonight on ABC, can be seen below:

‘Good Good’ singer Ashanti has been enticing faithful fans of followers of the goodies collected for her next anticipated LP.  Now, it looks like fans will be getting their first taste of the former ‘Murder Inc’ princess’s offerings. Fronted on her own imprint Written Entertainment,   ‘The Woman You Love’, featuring supersonic rapper Busta Rhymes , is the latest unveiled from the Grammy winner who has seen most of the past weeks touring Asia with famed songwriter David Foster.

As reported here, ‘Try It With Me’ beauty Nicole Scherzinger is trying yet again to gain footing on U.S. pop charts – this time, with her newly announced single ‘Pretty’.  Set for unveiling live on tonight’s X-Factor, the songstress will take a recess from her judging duties on the hit reality show to take the stage to perform the number.  While fans await the former PCD-frontwoman’s offerings, she was spotted yesterday chatting it up with Access Hollywood.
