N.E.R.D are just days away from releasing new album ‘NO_ONE EVER REALLY DIES’ – their first body of work in seven years.

The star-studded set features a who’s who of the music industry – including Rihanna and rapper Kendrick Lamar; with the latter appearing on two tracks.

One of said songs is christened ‘Don’t Don’t Do It!’ and has been unleashed today.

The socially-conscious cut was inspired by the harrowing story of Keith Lamont Scott – an Afro-American man killed by police in front of his wife. Despite not even being the suspect in question, he was fired at when asked to put his hands up. According to his family, he suffered from a brain ailment that made him unable to properly comprehend what he was being asked.

Her last words to her husband? ‘Don’t don’t do it.’

Ciara‘s accidentally 1,2 stepped into a shady situation thanks to what’s been deemed a GIF-worthy response to Christina Aguilera‘s stirring tribute to Whitney Houston at this year’s American Music Awards.

The highly touted showing saw the belter give her best go at Houston’s challenging ‘Bodyguard’ classics ‘I’m Every Woman,’ ‘I Have Nothing,’ ‘Run To You,’ and more.  But, when Xtina took aim at the late pop icon’s signature hit, ‘I Will Always Love You,’ it appears she wasn’t exactly getting love from everyone in the audience (as evidenced by some perceived side-eyes from the likes of Cici and P!nk).

The infraction did not go unnoticed by Aguilera’s beloved fans, affectionately called #Fighters.  See their fiery responses inside:

For many, the box-office smashing ‘Get Out’ offered the world an innovative and pungent look into the commodification of black people and their bodies.

Alas, after spending the last year receiving praise for raising the public’s consciousness on the matter and standing tall as the year’s most profitable release, the movie now finds itself at the heart of Golden Globe-related drama.

Like fellow demo-specific entertainment networks BET and Lifetime, TV One had found success by cutting into the ‘biopic pie,’ namely of musicians.

While BET’s New Edition mini-series and Lifetime’s Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, and Aaliyah made-for-TV biographical films have led the ratings race for the past few years in the particular genre, TV One took home a relative win in 2016 with their take on the life of Grammy-nominated R&B unsung beauty Miki Howard.

Hoping for a redo of that ratings magic, TV One tapped former child star Ty Hodges to direct an unauthorized recount of the life of pop icon Whitney Houston‘s only daughter Bobbi Kristina.  Titled ‘Bobbi Kristina,’ the film depicted her very public life as the child of two well-known (and troubled) celebrities – Houston and husband Bobby Brown – to her own tumultuous teenage years and untimely passing at the age of 22 in 2015.

The movie, despite being preceded by a controversial disapproval from the Houston estate as well as a lawsuit from Bobby Brown (click here to read more about that), still marched onto TV screens Sunday, October 8th at 8p/7p CST.  The problem?  Not many people were waiting for it there…
