Urban-Pop outfit Little Mix made X Factor UK history this week when they became the first ever group to win the ITV talent-search.

In true and slightly mundane fashion, as winner’s the show, the ladies (aged 18-20) have released a cover version of an “inspirational” cut – and this time it’s Damien Rice’s ‘Cannonball’ which gets the “winner’s song” treatment.

You saw the Jesy, Jade, Leigh-Ann, and Perrie, serve up a commendable live showing on Sunday’s finale, how does the studio / single mix measure up? Judge for yourself after the jump…

As the saying goes: “if at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again”.

Needless to say, with Nicole Scherzinger, it’s been a case of “if at first, second, or third”. For, which ever way it’s spun, her Stateside solo success has been a non-starter. Chart disaster after chart disaster has seen the former Pussycat Doll in quite the precarious position on home turf.

However, like a Duracell battery, the 32 year old’s drive (and label backing) seems infallible. A fact evidenced by confirmation of yet another single from the US version of her ‘Killer Love’ LP – which, as at writing – still sits unreleased.

2011 has been an amazing year on a many a front here at That Grape Juice, with the launch of our acoustic series The Splash being a major driver of that.

Since lift-off in June, we’ve hosted the likes of Keri HilsonMichelle Williams, as well as many of the industry’s brightest new talents. The most recent of which is one of the year’s biggest breakout stars – Miguel.

R&B queen Mary J. Blige may be presently battling contenders on the Billboard 200 with her acclaimed ‘My Life II’ album, but now it seems she’s taking those fighting skills to another arena. The ’25/8′ diva is certainly proving that concept to be more descriptive of her promo schedule as she joins rockers Nickelback to honor the troops via the annual NBC-sponsored special ‘Tribute To the Troops’.

Set for an hour-long special airing Saturday, December 17 at 9 p.m. on NBC (shot at Fort Bragg in North Carolina), the showing will be just one of many fans can expect to see the diva lend her talents to in the coming days including ‘VH1 Divas’ (Dec. 19) and ‘Home For the Holidays‘ with Martina McBride special (Dec. 21 at 8PM ET on CBS).

Until then, catch a snippet of Blige performing ‘Real Love’ for the troops after the jump:

Escaping December’s dropping temperatures was probably one of many reasons ‘Look At Me Now’ performer Chris Brown took to Dubai with girlfriend Karrueche.  The R&B bad boy was one of the big names tapped for the Dubai Festival City Concert and brought his highly acclaimed ‘F.A.M.E.’ tour to the Middle Eastern getaway for the first time.

The show-stopping event joins a bevy of billings boasting Brown’s name including his guest spot on top rapper’s Fat Joe and Pitbull‘s respective ventures.  See the video for the latter here.

As fans get more anxious for ‘F.A.M.E.’s’ follow-up, ‘Fortune’, in the forthcoming months, until then you see more of Breezy below (Via CBWeb):

After wrapping the US leg of her ‘Number Ones Tour’, Pop queen Janet Jackson is set to guest on The Insider this Thursday.

While it’s not known what her Janetsty will divulge, I can only hope it’ll shed some light on her next steps musically. Call us selfish, but her recent successes have – whether she likes it or not – afforded her another lifeline after a string of commercial under-performers; as such, we want her to use it. She needs to hop in the studio with Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Darkchild, and brew up that album we so know she has left in her.

Whatever the case, bring on Thursday.
