The premiere season of The X Factor USA brought with it many a twist and turn, as well as a wealth of new talent – one of the most notable being Marcus Canty.

After finishing fourth on the show, the 21 year old was swiftly signed up by mentor LA Reid to join his revitalised Epic Records roster.

The fruit of that union has been R&B bliss, with both of Canty’s singles ‘Won’t Make A Fool Out Of You’ and ‘In & Out’ drumming up ample buzz.

With the Washington DC native hard at work on his debut EP ‘This Is..Marcus Canty’ (due October 30th), we quizzed him on his background, ditching basketball for music, whether  he has any fears coming from a talent show, and much more.

CALLING UK MJ FANS – WIN AN MJ POSTER SIGNED BY SPIKE LEE

This week sees the release of ‘BAD 25’ from the legendary King of Pop Michael Jackson, celebrating the 25^th birthday of the historic album and the launch of a very exclusive competition for MJ’s UK fans.

TGJ went to see Spike Lee’s documentary ‘BAD 25’ recently and picked up a poster screen signed by Spike to ‘Numero Uno MJ Fan in the UK’ and now we’re offering one lucky reader the chance to win it!

To test fans knowledge, we’ll be asking a question each day this week and then on Friday you’ll be able to figure out the final question and enter the competition.

Call it the ‘Think Like A Man’ effect.  What ever you call it, there is some serious star power packed in the forthcoming film ‘Baggage Claim’.  From the pen of playwright/director David E. Talbert (‘What My Husband Doesn’t Know’), the novel-turned-movie is set to feature Paula Patton, Derek Luke, Octavia Spencer, Trey Songz, Tia Mowry, Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, and Djimon Hounsou to name a few.

As if the aforementioned were not enough, the cast’s finalization will not take place until next month when production begins.  Needless to say, fans of the star-filled ‘Think Like a Man’ movie (also set for a sequel) should enjoy this collection of actors.

As reported here, ‘Bombs’ beauty Dawn Richard dropped yet another explosive music video to accompany the banger ‘Wild N’ Faith‘.

Lifted from the stellar ‘Armor On’ EP, the ELY-directed clip is filled with imagery and dance-sequences that are quickly earning Richard recognition on the solo front.

As reported here, Matthew Knowles, the mastermind behind one of the best-selling girl groups of all-time Destiny’s Child, revealed news of plans to release not one, but two new projects under the band’s moniker.

Though originally thought to be a set of “new” recordings, reports later surfaced indicating the albums to be collections of greatest hits and unreleased tunes.  Be that as it may, Daddy Knowles is still pressing forward – with the ‘Greatest Hits’ compilation up first.

Undoubtedly with hopes that sales of the offering will inspire the threesome to regroup, Matthew is letting fans know when they can snatch their copy of Beyonce, Michelle, and Kelly‘s forthcoming set:

Indeed, that’s how long Alecia Moore – known more commonly as Pink – has dazzled the industry with her powerful-pipes and rebellious personna.

It’s surprising, though, that her incredible success hasn’t brought with it a chart-topping album on home-soil – until now. For, according to this week’s sales estimates, the 33 year old’s sixth studio album ‘The Truth About Love’ is on course to open at #1 on the Billboard 200 next week.
