Alicia Keys lent her oft-praised vocals to the iHeartMedia-sanctioned Stonewall Day concert, which marked the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.
Performing live in her hometown of New York City last Friday (June 28), the response to her set – namely her remake of Cyndi Lauper‘s 1986 chart-topping hit ‘True Colors’ – was so positive Keys and team decided to repackage it as a music video and upload it to her official Youtube handle.
“I felt so moved to play at #Stonewall50 during World Pride this year knowing it was in my hometown, and this song captured the energy so perfectly!!,” Keys said. “YOU COULD FEEL IT! New York, you showed your True Colors and they were so beautiful!!”
The Grammy winner donned her signature braids and a Stella McCartney jumpsuit to show love for a community that’s long supported her in her nearly 20 year career.

With a career fueled by hits chock full of provocative language and content, many were puzzled when Nicki Minaj accepted a gig at Saudi Arabia’s ‘Jeddah World Fest.’ A country renown for its conservatism, as well as repressive treatment of women and minorities, reports have it the nation’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman authorized the performance – an invitation accompanied by a seven figure payout for the rapstress.
As news spread about the forthcoming appearance, locals, fans, and human rights activists alike spoke out to urge the Grammy nominee to withdraw. While Saudi Arabians were generally more concerned about the femcee’s suggestive songs and stage attire, the latter seemed to focus on the country’s mistreatment of its citizens. The most headline-grabbing criticism came courtesy of Thor Halvorseen – the CEO and President of the Human Rights Foundation (who recently the rapper a lengthy reprimand for her involvement and strongly advised her to reconsider the outing).

Earlier this week industry insiders predicted that Daniel Caesar‘s studio set ‘Case Study 01‘ would move under 3,000 copies in pure sales (and around 20,000 units with streams) in its opening week.
Now, his final numbers are in and showcase the full extent of the damage his decision to condemn African-Americans (who made up the lion’s share of his fan base) has caused.
@YesJulz is there a reason why you didn't promote the @DanielCaesar album? He literally ruined his career and lost his fanbase to defend you. Inquiring minds would like to know.#yesjuelz #danielcaesar pic.twitter.com/uwoIfls51Y

Justin Bieber is the latest name to weigh-in on the boiling drama between his manager Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift.
As reported, the music mogul secured the rights to the singer’s master recordings after purchasing her former label Big Machine.
Swift swiftly took to the net to vent – asserting that she knew nothing of the deal until everyone else did and also stressed she’s long had issues with Braun, hence her angst at him specifically owning her life’s work.
With the masses now engaging in heated debate, here’s what Bieber – whose career was shepherded by Braun – had to say (after initially posting and removing a jab)…

Oftentimes the entertainment industry sees the names who create, inspire, and execute the spectacle go unsung. However, with a talent and personality as tall as Laurieann Gibson‘s, that couldn’t be further from the case.
First introduced to the millennial masses on MTV’s ‘Making The Band,’ the dynamic, Emmy-nominated choreographer has been a fixture on screens for over 15 years and behind them for even longer. Now, the “Boom Kack” advocate is bringing her seasoned expertise to the judging table of FOX’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ 16th season.
Ahead of the premiere of tonight’s episode, That Grape Juice caught up with Gibson, who waxed honest about her storied career, the state of dance today, the YouTube takeover, and, of course, what viewers can expect from this season of the hit show.
