Christmas has come all sorts of early for John Legend fans.

The Soulful crooner hasn’t released a traditional album since 2008’s ‘Evolver’ and hasn’t released a well-received LP since ‘Once Again’ in 2006. Still, for many, his debut ‘Get Lifted’ serves as his definitive “best” effort yet.

Hence, perhaps realizing this (and the fact that time and the industry wait for no one), Legend has enlisted the team responsible for ‘Lifted’ to craft his 4th studio album – the title of which he revealed today.

As reported yesterday, Rihanna‘s latest LP ‘Talk That Talk’ staged a remarkable rebound to #1 on the Official UK Album Chart – 38 weeks after first topping the tally.

However, in the absence of promotion or activity surrounding any of the set’s singles, many scratched their heads as to how the album achieved the feat.

As many an act has learned before her, one’s legacy is only as powerful as the actions one takes in their career to preserve it.

Unfortunately for Lil Kim, by way of falling for traps set by reigning Rap Queen Nicki Minaj and a questionable work ethic, she has seen her once admired career tainted and almost destroyed in recent years.

Sullied, by her inability to match feats scored by acts she herself paved the way for.

Now, in a letter sent to That Grape Juice.Net this evening, her remaining fans have threatened to boycott her- citing her disregard for their supports  as grounds for their grievance.

Love it or hate it, there’s no denying the impact Lady GaGa‘s 2011 album ‘Born This Way’ made on both her commercial and branding front.

On a commercial tip it serves as one of 2011’s best US sellers, pushing a sweet  5 million copies worldwide by the year’s end.

However, despite being heralded for being socially aware on a thematic tip, the project saw her once light, bright and refreshing  message obliterated to make room for a cause some felt was a little…stifling.

Beyonce put her star power to good use today, lending her voice to today’s ‘World Humanitarian Day‘ festivities in NYC.

Speaking at the UN Security Council an hour or so ago, the singer/songwriter also shot the video for her latest release ‘I Was Here’ at the event, all before she donates the proceeds from the single to its cause.

With the arrival of the Drake/Noah Shebib Aaliyah cut ‘Enough Said’ came reports that the Rapper was to executive produce the late singer’s new LP, upon request of her record label Blackground Records.

However, in what marks another twist in the increasingly uncomfortable story, the label has denied giving Drake permission to oversee the project in an interview with the folk over at Billboard Biz.
