It’s been quite the journey for Sam Smith.

This week brought with it the long-awaited release of new album ‘Love Goes,’ the campaign for which has been in motion since the start of last year.

Smash hit Normani collaboration ‘Dancing With A Stranger’ kicked off the era, which has shape-shifted in earnest from its initial launch in 2019.

Indeed, the project has spawned a variety of singles and experienced a name-change (from ‘To Die For’) due to sensitivities around the current climate.

Still, it’s finally made it to retail and streaming services.

Find out what the LP’s first week prospects look like after the jump…

Renowned heartbreak royal, Sam Smith first took the world by storm in 2014 with their smash-hit ‘Stay With Me.’ Their sorrowful lyrics and longing voice paired together to form a successful team for the singer, as they went on to sweep the GRAMMY Awards the following year.

While Smith has not seen the heights they attained as far as commercial success goes, the singer has nonetheless continued to put out quality albums.

Their latest release, ‘Love Goes,’ is no different in terms of quality material.

Just us below where we drive into Smith’s latest offering…

Sam Smith fans finally have their hands on the singer’s third studio album, ‘Love Goes’ (click here to stream).

Lined with hits ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ (featuring Normani), ‘I’m Ready’ (featuring Demi Lovato), ‘How Do You Sleep?,’ ‘Diamonds,’ and more, the long-awaited set – like ‘In the Lonely Hour’ (2014) and ‘The Thrill of It All’ (2017) before it – has been showered with praise by critics and fans alike since its arrival.

To appeal to record buyers on the fence, Smith – despite having previously released 8 of the LP’s 17 tracks – has unveiled a listen to yet another of its gems; ‘Kids Again.’

Taking to the fairground in the song’s Alasdair McLellan-directed accompanying visual, the setting acts as an ironic placement given the tune’s somber lyrics.

“…every time I hear our song it kind of hurts me still / ooh, even after all this time I kind of miss you still I’m wondering… / Do you even think about it / The way that we changed the world and don’t it make you sad / That we’ll never be kids again,” the GRAMMY winner croons on the Ryan Tedder-penned cut.

Nearly three years after topping the Billboard 200 with their sophomore album, ‘The Thrill of It All,’ singer-songwriter Sam Smith unleashes the set’s long-awaited follow-up, ‘Love Goes.’

Previously titled ‘To Die For,’ the new LP was kicked off by the blockbuster, 2019-released ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ (featuring Normani) before seeing its subsequent singles experience markedly less success on the Hot 100.

Although lacking the buzz of its predecessors, the 17-track ‘Love Goes’ – which features the likes of Burna Boy, Calvin Harris, Demi Lovato, and more – has already won acclaim from top industry critics and tastemakers, a feat the GRAMMY winner is undoubtedly hoping will be mirrored by record buyers.

Sam Smith sprung a surprise on fans September 17 with the official announcement of their highly anticipated third album, ‘Love Goes.’

Formerly titled ‘To Die For,’ the serially delayed project – due October 30 – boasts 17 tracks and an impressive guest list that includes the likes of Calvin Harris, Demi Lovato, Normani, Labrinth, and Burna Boy. Despite the who’s who of cameos, Smith though it best to “kick off” the area by their lonesome with the critically acclaimed ‘Diamonds.’

To date, the tune’s peaked at #51 on the Hot 100 – a modest tide the GRAMMY winner is undoubtedly hoping to turn with the forthcoming slew of promotional appearances lined up in its support.

The latest bid comes courtesy of a stirring acoustic performance of the Shellback-produced song.

Sam Smith‘s third era may have kicked off in a promising manner thanks to the Normani-assisted ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ (one of the biggest songs of 2019), but the follow-up tunes lifted from its accompanying album – previously titled ‘To Die For’ – have all had varying levels of success on the Hot 100 with some missing the tally all together.

Hoping to change the tide, Smith is shining light on a new single: the Shellback & Oscar Holter-produced ‘Diamonds.’

Announced just Monday (September 15), the song arrives nearly two months after the GRAMMY winner’s last ill-fated release ‘My Oasis’ (featuring Burna Boy).’

Is ‘Diamonds’ just what’s needed to rescue Smith’s new album? Listen inside and tell us:

The roll out for Sam Smith‘s yet-titled third album has been murky to say the least.

Launched in 2019 on the back of one of the year’s biggest hits, the Normani-assisted ‘Dancing with a Stranger,’ the pending project saw its subsequent singles perform progressively worse leading up to the most recent release, ‘My Oasis’ (which missed the Hot 100 all together).

The latest bid to rescue the era comes in the form of the newly announced, ‘Diamonds.’

Tiwa Savage has unleashed brand new album ‘Celia.’

Serving as the Afrobeats queen’s third full-length effort, it’s notably her first release since inking a lucrative deal with Universal Music / Motown.

An established superstar in the Afro diaspora (thanks to hits such as ‘Kele Kele’ and ‘Ma Lo’), the flavoursome set aims to broaden the singer’s reach on a global scale.

A concept project of sorts, the LP is named after Savage’s mother. Explaining the move and the album more broadly, she recently told Apple Music:

“She embodies everything that this album is. It speaks to a strong, modern African woman. This album is Afrobeats from a very female perspective. It’s an extension of the African woman: she still values her culture and her upbringing, but she’s also well-travelled, so it’s blending those two worlds. I want every woman that listens to this to feel attached and connect to it.”

Featuring collaborations with the likes of Sam Smith, Stefflon Don, and Davido, the LP awaits your listening below…
