Tiwa Savage has officially announced new album ‘CELIA.’

The hotly anticipated set is named after the star’s mother and promises pepper aplenty.

Serving as the Afrobeat titan’s first full-length project since 2015’s ‘R.E.D,’ the project also follows her appearance on Beyonce’s ‘The Gift’ and companion visual album ‘Black Is King.’

Preceded by bops such as ‘Dangerous Woman’ and ‘Koroba,’ the album will also feature collaborations with notable names such as Sam Smith, Davido, Stefflon Don, and Naira Marley.

The record will be Savage’s first since signing a seismic deal with Universal Music.

To say Sam Smith‘s third era has been a rollercoaster would be an understatement.

Despite kicking it off with one of 2019’s biggest songs, the Normani-assisted ‘Dancing with a Stranger,’ the GRAMMY-winner followed in 2020 with a string of moderately successful Hot 100 hits to precede the previously June 5-slated LP ‘To Die For’ – then  temporarily shelved it all together (as we reported here).

Now, it appears the 28-year-old is recharged and ready to serve hungry fans news on the revamped era.

Doja Cat may have spent most of the weekend battling cancellation due to resurfaced videos that allegedly feature her engaging in homophobic and racist behavior (as we reported here), but that didn’t stop the ‘Say So’ performer from cranking out the hit live for BBC’s ‘Radio 1’s Big Weekend.’

Originally scheduled to be held at the Camperdown Park in Dundee May 22-24, the festival – which usually draws over 60,000 people – was forced to be carried out virtually this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Joining a performance roster that included the likes of Rita Ora, Sam Smith, Niall Horan, Ellie Goulding, and more, look inside to see Cat and crew do their things:

Despite its promising #36 debut on the Hot 100 last week, Sam Smith and Demi Lovato‘s ‘I’m Ready’ has already slipped outside the top 60 in week 2.

And, while the GRAMMY winner has confirmed its unlikely the tune (much like its ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ and ‘How Do You Sleep?’ predecessors) will be included on the final tracklist for their yet-titled third studio album (as we reported here), that hasn’t stopped the promo push for it.

The latest effort comes via a behind-the-scenes peek at its Olympics-inspired music video.  Directed by Swanson and Kay Vermeil, look inside to see all the action:

As an artist who had been established as a frontrunner in Pop music with the release of two back-to-back chart-toppers, ‘In the Lonely Hour’ and ‘The Thrill of It All,’ pressure has undoubtedly been mounting for Sam Smith to meet or exceed those critical and commercial successes with a follow-up.

Seemingly en route to doing just that with the Normani-assisted ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ – one of 2019’s biggest hits – but the rollout of the era in its entirety, christened ‘To Die For,’ went downhill from there.

The lack of buzz for the project – coupled with a global pandemic – certainly served as reason enough to not only delay the LP from its original May 1 release date (as we reported here), but also rename it to avoid perception of insensitivity to said health crisis.

Taking to our friends at PopBuzz recently, Smith spoke on the strategy behind revamping ‘To Die For,’ gave insight into its rerouted conceptual direction (which potentially includes omitting ALL of the previously released singles), and so much more.
