Furore erupted among Whitney Houston fans when news hit that the late legend’s personal and professional effects were being put up for auction – by her own estate.

Everything from gowns to the diva’s passport were being made available to bid on.

The reason offered? To allow supporters to have a little piece of their idol, who died aged just 48 in 2012.

Per a new report, one item now ineligible for purchase will be Houston’s 1986 Emmy Award.

The 67th Emmy Awards took place in the city of angels yesterday evening and welcomed stars from near and far to celebrate the best television had to offer in the last year.

‘How To Get Away With Murder‘ actress Viola Davis is  now the first African-American actress to receive the Emmy award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ after she earned the coveted gong during last night’s ceremony in Los Angeles.

Her groundbreaking win came before the series returns for a second season on September 24th and came accompanied by an acceptance speech that pays tribute to the African-American humanitarian Harriet Tubman.

As reported here,  the 2015 Primetime Emmy nominations were unveiled today to honor the year’s most spectacular moments and people on television.

While the historic nominations of Taraji P. Henson (‘Empire’) and Viola Davis (‘How To Get Away With Murder’) could lend the first time in history an African American woman walks away with the ‘Best Actress’ primetime Emmy, other coveted categories are looking just as good for some of entertainment’s leading ladies.

‘Telephone’ duo Lady Gaga and Beyonce are considered frontrunners in their respective categories while fellow pop diva Katy Perry‘s ‘Super Bowl’ outing  – like Bey and Bruno Mars before her, nabbed a mention in this year’s ‘Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program’ category.

In the court of public opinion, The Wendy Williams Show has been reigning for some time.

Now in sixth season, the daytime talker routinely pulls in more ratings than its more “traditional” competition such as ‘Ellen’ and ‘The View.’

Said shows most certainly have to watch out now, because the series appears to have found favor amongst critics too, who have nominated ‘Wendy’ for two Daytime Emmy Awards.
