It seems things really do seem to be on the up for Kelly Rowland. After redeeming herself in the public eye following her split from Mathew Knowles, the singer is reportedly the front-runner in the search for a new judge on Simon Cowell’s X-Factor to replace Danni Minogue:
The race to replace judge DANNII MINOGUE is also hotting up, with KELLY ROWLAND, now the main contender if the Aussie is axed as expected.
Simon is keen for an American to sit next to him, Louis and CHERYL COLE — and the former DESTINY’S CHILD singer fits the bill.
The source added: “Simon wants his winners to break the States like LEONA LEWIS did, so having an American judge would help that.” {Source}
This would really be a good look for Kelly – most especially in terms of expanding her profile here in the UK. Onwards and upwards, ey…

THIS WOULD NOT be a great move for Kelly. It WOULD be the EXACT opposite. Wash-ups judge music shows, not relevant talented performers. Now that Kelly's free of Matthew she needs to come out w/ a solid album & quite doing reality music shows. Come on with a GREAT album Kelly PLEASE

it’s expected – if the rumours of her signing with 19 are to materialise. 19 management have some rights to the show – or at least used to, plus all the artists end up signing with them.

Leona Lewis: She has another album she's working on and they are trying their best to make her Mariah Carey Jr.
Alexandra Burke: They will also try to make her a star in the US becasue she and Leona already have the UK on lock!
PLUS: The next season of American Idol, sometimes they promote the hell out of the winner AND The runner up! Thats FOUR PEOPLE ahead of Ms Kelly Rowland, am I right or wrong? I she dug herself a nic little hole!

I say DO IT! So long as this gig doesn’t take up too much of her time and prevent her from putting out her new album ASAP. At least it’s exposure and I think she’d be a good look for the show. As long as she’s still making music,I don’t have a problem with any outside venture she decides to persue. However,this is not yet official news,so to the folks who are already naysaying,chill out. It’s just a show. A very popular show at that. It would not spell the end of Kelly’s career. I have a strong feeling this is the beginning of new and exciting things for Kelly. Let the girl “work”.

Wait! How is Kelly going to do this? She’s supposed to be releasing an album this year,the Style Network has reportedly picked up a show that will feature her(stateside) and now she’s going to be an X-Factor judge overseas? How is she going to do all of these things that are taking place in different continents? Don’t get me wrong;if all of this is true and actually comes to fruition I’ll be elated,but I don’t see how these things are cohesive. I suppose it’s do-able considering X-Factor, if it really is the UK’s American Idol,is a seasonal show which will leave Kelly’s schedule wide open for other things. But like Anonymous @ 7:32pm said,none of this is official. Neither shows have been confirmed and Kelly’s album does not yet have a release date so all of this is still up in the air. I hope that Kelly is sticking to her guns and will make these things happen for herself,other wise she might as well retire at 28 because there’s nothing worse than saying you’re going to do big things but then never following through. I really hope this time Kelly follows through. No false starts. No false statements. Enough with all the speculated endeavors. Let’s see some things poppin’ with you Kelly. We’re ready and excited.
