There have been murmurings for sometime now about Brandy starring in her own reality show. As it turns out, the Grammy Award winning singer will be joining her brother Ray J, as well as their mother and father – Sonja and Willie Norwood, in a new VH1 reality show. Check out the synoposis below (spotted over at our good friend’s Concrete Loop):
Siblings Brandy and Ray J Norwood are famous for their incredible vocal talent on the stage and screen. But they wouldn’t be anywhere without the support and guidance of their parents – entertainment manager and mom, Sonja and talented musical father, Willie Norwood. Viewers will get a first hand glimpse into the lives of the Norwood family unit and their family business – Rn’B Productions. Run by Sonja, Rn’B Productions features an impressive roster of musical artists including Brandy, Ray J and their father Willie, who also serves as the company’s vocal coach. But with Sonja ready to take a step down, Brandy and Ray J will have to fill her shoes quickly all the while taking the family business to the next level. Will they have what it takes to continue to stay in the limelight while growing an entertainment empire?
The reality route seems to be the way to go for many an artist these days. Let’s just hope the show, which debuts April 11th at 9pm, is more in the vein of Monica’s or Fantasia’s, than any of Ray J’s VH1 outings.

!!!! However, I wish Brandy would do a tv show of her owns. Maybe this show will help bring some attention back on Brandy and open up those doors to bring her back to what she’s used to.

Seems a bit desparate. What family business or roster of artists do their mom manage ? There are none that I know off. This seems like a gimmicky quick way to make a buck and to get Brandy’ s name out there.
How the mighty have fallen to be reduced to putting out youtube clips. I hope that she does get a record deal but I can labels seem to be scared to sign her due to her very low sales last time out.
Hopefully this series will give her some visibility so she can do well but i’m getting sick of these C list singers going the reality tv route.

Brandy has “Nothing” to prove to the world due to the fact that she’s done so much. I mean let’s NOT forget she was the “IT” girl for the 90′s. I will be watching! There are a lot of negative reality shows on t.v (frankie and neffe) and I think that this show is refreshing, considering they are a great example of a family still together working to get back on track.

Yeah, I mean people are so quick to call this show a flop before it even comes on.. and be the main ones sayin vh1 always “exploiting” blacks and showing us in a negative light. Yet this is a positive show about business, family, talent, etc.
And like someone else said Brandy did one of the first reality shows “Special Delivery” before there was barely even a name for “reality tv”.. She doesn’t have anything to prove. don’t act like u wasn’t watchin Moesha after school homie!

Brandy, Aaliyah, Monica just to name a few were the “It” girls of the 90′s. They’ve done so much with their careers to the point were they really can’t do much else.
Anyways, back on topic(Lol!) I will be watching. Brandy is my girl. I love here so much. I remember when a was little I would dance to her videos when they came on on BET. This show should be much better than those wack ass dating shows where don’t do crap but make themselves look like bigger fools than they already are.Hope it does well…
And I agree with @Erica. Never Say Never was her best album in my opinion. I was listening to it this morning on my way to school…

Yes Ima defo be watchin this.. Something about this show is gonna be different. Shes not following Monicas footsteps. This is about being unified and adapting to a new industry as opposed to wat is was in the past.
Its a boost for her, and its about time people get to recognise her talents dese days. Brandy. Its also gets people to recognise how hard it can be to survive in this current industry for those who dont know,

I wish people would stop hating on Brandy. She is just trying to feed her family like everyone else. True, her music career may not be where it should be but to me she is one of the best female vocalist ever.
