Rihanna is blazing her way along the promotional trail. This time the Bajan performed her new song, ‘Rude Boy‘, on the UK’s GMTV. The song has thus far peaked at #6 on the UK Singles Chart and #23 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
It’s safe to say that this was one of the better performances of that song date. Rihanna is slowly coming into her own as a performer and, as usual, her fashion game was on point. Her team has made solid decisions thus far with this album’s singles selections, unlike Rihanna’s idol and label mate, Mariah Carey. Timing is everything and ‘Rude Boy’ came out at the perfect moment.

There is nothing wrong with rihanna’s live voice. It sounds a heck of alot better than many in the business, and she sounds the same on her record. That is one thing you can’t take away from her. She looked stunning as well. True eye candy.

As for my opinion of the performance, I liked the one on Ellen the best…I didn’t really care for this one. Her vocals sounded off key and her dancing was like it usually is. Super-stiff! She was so much more fluid on Ellen! Comparatively speaking.

Definitely one of her better vocal deliveries. The dancing was still a little on the stiff side but hey….I’d take better vocals for now at least.
I find that while the sound is a bit dated, it works for her. Reminds me of some 90’s Caribbean-esque music more like some of her earlier songs which seem to work better for her. Even some of her earlier performances that used more Caribbean-influenced dances she did a lot better….maybe she’s heading toward a revisit to what was working at the start of her career….idk

As always she looked beautiful, but she sounded a mess. I tired of typing down the obvious. She beautiful. There’s no denying that, but she’s a “MUSICIAN”. She should be singing. I’m waiting on the day where I can say “Damn, that performance was great”!, or “Man, she sounded amazing”!. But if she keeps singing like this, that won’t happen anytime soon…
I like her as a person, but I don’t think she’s a very good dancer, but who cares? As long as she can sing. But non the less I admire her for bouncing back after what Chris Brown did to her, strong woman. I know from personal experience it’s not easy to come back, and even more so with her being so famous.
I really don’t care if she can dance or not or sing or not, she’s a nice person and should be judged on who she is as a person rather than being cussed for how she sings and dances.
I’m more of a Beyonce fan tbh. Another strong woman.
