According to new reports, R&B star Brandy is apparently set to compete in the latest season of Dancing With The Stars.

Perez Hilton writes that the 31 year old Grammy winner will feature on this year’s incarnation of the hit ABC series, along with Audrina Patridge from ‘The Hills’.

For Brandy’s sake, this needs to be a rumour and rumour alone. She just about came out unscathed from her VH1 reality show with Ray J, yet – if this is true – Dancing With The Stars may be the final nail in the coffin for her relevancy.
A ratings-winner maybe, but one cannot side-step the fact that next-to-all who compete on the show are D-list at best, with the series doing nothing for the careers of those who weren’t (see: Nicole Scherzinger, Toni Braxton).
What’s more, beyond cheapening her ‘brand’, all prior evidence pointed to Ms. Norwood focussing on her music career (which, despite her immense talent, is but a few beeps away from flat-lining – let’s keep it all the way real). How a stint on such a show would benefit that is beyond me. Surely if she wanted to dance so much, she should just schedule an appointment with a choreographer, no?

I have to agree, I love Brandy, but this is NOT a good look, at all.
Her fans (including myself) can try to rationalize all we want….but at the end of the day its just tacky all the way around.
Brandy needs to focus on getting in the studio and producing a magical record that will blow everyone away and silence her critics.

Who caresss! The show has a massive audience and they do have A-list music acts who perform as special guests. That’s how you sell records. Ask Clive Davis who says “you need to get ur name on high profile shows to the most audience”. No matter what u think, DWTS has that. Why do you think everyone in the music biz (A-list and has beens alike) have been clamoring to get on Glee? The show is stupid, t*****, and gay but has a massive audience and high ratings. Besides, the avg. fee is $250-$350k for DWTS and after Brandy’s payout when she killed the lady she needs all the $$$ she can get, lol. And, hey… she could get knocked out in the 1st or 2nd round. Not bad change for 2 weeks work! And how did she come out unscathed from that Ray J reality show? It’s been renewed last I heard. If it was so bad, she wouldn’t have signed on again. Get the facts straight.

Dancing with the Stars are for losers. Lil Kim’s people warned her that DWTS would not be a good career move, but Kim did it anyway. And even though Kim was great on the show, and her elimination upset the world, being on the show made the public forget her as a rapper. Kim became irrelevant to the music industry, and Brandy will too.

I don’t like it. I didn’t mind Brandy’s reality show, but this would be a little desperate. DWTS, showcase alot of has beens. Most of the guest are no longer in their prime. I think Brandy should be careful with this one. I don’t want that look for her. I think this is her big chance to get a warm welcome and make a great comeback album(like only she can). I think music should be her only focus right now!

The publicity for this show is huge and she is already making headlines and has been for the past years so Let’s not act like this is all BAD NEWS> what didnt work for those other so Called D list celebs has nothing to do with Brandy. People are actually waiting for her music, No one was waiting on Lil kim, Mya or Toni Braxton like that, Brandy has her own hit show on Vh1 so her situation is not the same as those other people.
Brandy is no stranger to TV let’s remember that, Most people will remember her from her Acting more so then her singing and to me that is Great because it allows people to see another side of Brandy other then in the studio making Great albums.

DWTS is a big show but it lost it’s luster for me when they started casting professional dancers as contestants.
I agree i think that this is a good way of geting her name out there, and i think shes even said on twitter that she felt more comfortable dancing in her room than anywhere else..
But its good motivational curve for her to to master good choregraphy and dance her ass off on stage..shes just exploring another part of her talent..

Everything To Me was a #1R&B smash but only peaked at 44 on the Top 100 while Right Here (Departed) peaked at 34 and made it to #1 on the Dance Charts along with Long Distance.
Right Here also charted internationally. I think that is pretty significant. Don’t count Brandy out.
But, like I said I am a Monica fan also. I stay bumping “Still Standing” I think it is her best album since her debut.
