Chris Brown has teamed with British rapper Chipmunk for the latter’s new single ‘Champion’. The pair (pictured together below) shot the video for the single, which is released in January, earlier this week in Miami.
Though on the surface somewhat of a random collabo, Brown and Chipmunk are both signed to Sony Music (Jive and RCA). Hence, this was likely a label call to benefit both artists in the US and UK markets.

I did find this collab to be a bit random, especially since I never heard of Chimpmunk before, but apparently he is really big in the UK. He said in an interview that his fans urged him to work with Breezy when he was on a Ustream session, so he reached out. The fact that they are on the same label probably didn’t hurt either! They clearly work well together cause ‘Champion’ is such a great record!
I love that CB is working with an international artist and I know that he is from the UK and cannot help it, but I do find Chipmunk’s accent to be a bit annoying on the song. The way he says ‘money’ in the song just irks my spirits. Lol! But I still love the song! It is so powerful and meaningful! I’m not sure how it will do here in the states, but I am sure it will do well in the UK.

Chris looks great, never actually heard the song but heard of it and only positive things. This is also the first time I am hearing of the artist Champion. I really hope it does well for both. Hopefully it will improve both artist brand globally. Maybe TGJ will do a post on Champion so that we in the states can learn more about his work. 🙂

This is exactly what they are doing. If you will recall, they did the same thing for Deuces, Takers, and Yeah 3x they think if they get on the internet and post negative things that they will make it so. But the only thing that is happening is they are proving to look like fools.
In the song Champions, Chipmunk had a line that said that he is building a foundation with the bricks they are throwing. The song Champion is deep and this is Chris’ story this song is about him. listen to the way he is singing Chris is feeling this song. I get so emotional when I hear this song and I think Go Chris Go, rise, soar, sing, dance and prove the haters wrong. Chris is truly a Champion. and I love him for it.
