New Video: Shontelle – ‘Say Hello To Goodbye’

shontelle promo 1 e1284213919899 New Video: Shontelle Say Hello To Goodbye

Someone, somewhere must really take to Shontelle. Because, after her last single ‘Perfect Nightmare’ failed to set the charts alight, she has been handed another lifeline in the from of new single ‘Say Hello to Goodbye’.

The video for the Pop ballad premiered moments ago on VEVO. Check it out after the jump…

Luckily for Shontelle, she has a team who seem to believe in her; because they’re going to have to keep trying. By no means ‘bad’, the problem lies in the fact that neither the song or the video are particularly memorable. She is a talented girl and, given the standard of acts dominating the charts, has the tools to be successful. It’s down to her and her team, though, to conjure up a means of making the material and image connect in such a way that the masses take note of her.

  • nice song and nice video

  • it’s a good song. remember, sam, that’s how “motivation” got under estimated the first time it came out, yet look where it is today. even “casual” songs can be hits.

  • She has the voice, the look, the lot.
just not a good promotion team behind her.
Perfect Nightmare is an amazing song which went to waste due to no fault of her own.
Bad things happen to the best people. :(
I can only sit and hope AGAIN, that she gets promoted this time around. *sigh*
but i will be buying both the mp3 and video from iTunes, support Shontelle! =)

  • Perfect Nightmare got hardly any airplay but this is already climbing up the radio airplay charts! I’m starting to think that she should just release ballads haha

  • Shontelle should keep preserving her moment will happen if she sings from the heart and demand better promotion. On a side note I just realize that she reminds me of Whitney Houston.

Aisha is right, you never know when it’s gonna explode like a hit. I still think “Lady Antebellum’s Need You Know” is a casual song, i don’t think it’s special but it’s a hit… I hope it happens the same with this beautiful ballad. <3

It’s a hit in the making. This is the type of song people will dig. Don’t know why the last one didn’t do much but I can see this getting a lot of airplay.

  • I respect her hussle.

You do need a team behind you that believes in you.

Rihanna could have been dropped after ITLTYW flopped but DEF JAM said nope we believe in you and they went to drawing board and S.O.S was a huge number 1 smash and she went onto have a couple other top 10 hits, however DEF JAM still knew that Rihanna had more potencial so they found the right song to launch her into superstardom.

Shontelle i dont know though because T Shirt was an amazing song yet it didnt crack top 20. Had Rihanna sang it it would have been number 1.

So if an artist cant make it even with a hit song then it means they never will.

The fact of the matter is not everyone is meant to be famous no matter how talented theyu maybe.

She still making money though as she is a song writer and co wrote Man Down which will be Rihannas next top 10 smash

Shontelle writes good songs but somehow I think she may need to start giving others to sing them.

And it’s not that her voice is bad but with her behind the songs they won’t soar.
This one in question looks like a song America would prefer seeing some “white” pop star singing. She is not very convincing…

Or she simply needs a stronger team. Another flop and she bound to get dropped. Sigh, cause I do like her.

  • I hate these type of dull, pop, ballad, sad love songs, but many “mainstream” people do. If it was Rihanna, Beyonce, or even Katy singing it, it would sky rocket to #1, but since it’s someone who people hardly know, no one cares. Shontelle was a fool to give up college to pursue a music career! Her last flopped so damn hard. Not everyone will make it in the music biz but anyone and everyone can be a star, even people in blogs who comment. It’s all about who you know and luck. Shontelle hasn’t met the right people. Her voice annoys me, she’s an okay singer, but has no range or personality.
