Like I said in the post yesterday asking the same question, when she surpasses Janet & Madonna in achievements[who are both the Queens to me], then I’ll be ready for the discussion. Another thing about Madonna & Janet, they were both so innovative. Madonna in her sound and appearance and Janet in her choreography. Beyonce is more R&B anyways. But no shade intended, she never has and never will be on the level of Michael Jackson .No one will be.
It is disrespectful to compare his legacy to an artist who has only been in the game 15 years and less than that as a solo artist. She hasn’t done half of what MJ did 15 years into his career.

At the end of the day she is his wife and I understand him wanting to support her but she is in no way on an MJ level. She isn’t even on a Madonna/Janet level (when they were in their prime) she’s still competing with Rihanna, Gaga and Britney for relevance (and she’s currently losing as her current single slides on down the charts) she’s not in her own lane at all. And furthermore the CIL sound is basically something that Amerie had already covered (and did better) the only difference is that Beyonce’s sound was the one that people ended up paying more attention to. With every release it’s like she’s trying to re-create CIL, Irreplaceable or most recently SL and failing.

Well….it’s his wife so of course he is gonna give her the ultimate compliment. If that’s how he feels then that is how he feels. He is entitled to his own opinion. What isn’t fair is that Beyonce is gonna get bashed (as we can see on this post) just because her HUSBAND has voiced his opinion on her. She didn’t say this out of her own mouth but people are attack her as if she did. SMH.
I guess I can see the comparison somewhat. Bey is like one of the best, if not THEE best entertainers of her generation. Her stage presence is like no other! No one can put on a live show like Beyonce! She has the album sales, the awards, the accolades, the movies (we won’t go there) the sold out tours, the respect from her piers & obviously the fanbase. Bey is definitely in a league of her own and I can understand why people would put her up there with MJ. She has made her mark & if she died today I do think she would be considered a ‘legend’.
I wouldn’t agree though because even as a fan I can admit that she isn’t a ‘innovator’ like MJ was. She’s not ‘original’ and has showed lil growth in her music over her career. To me she is like a modern day Diana Ross. I would say that her last album ‘4’ has showed the most growth in her as an artist. It was probably her most mature album to date but look how long it too her to get there. Her writing creds are questionable too.
The truth is no other artist is ever going to achieve what MJ achieved. No one will ever outsell him (mostly because of illegal downloading), no on can ever top or break the records that he has set, more than likely no one will ever leave the impact that MJ left in this industry! That’s understood but at the same time entertainers such as Chris Brown, Usher & Beyonce shouldn’t be bashed just because people see in them what they saw in MJ. Talent isn’t all about sales or awards or accolades. If someone says that they feel that Beyonce or Chris Brown is the next MJ then that is their opinion! It’s not like Bey or CB said it themselves!
But then again, I do remember Jay Z saying that he thought Usher was going to be the next MJ, but he said that back in 2009, so who knows how he really feels. I just think that he was giving his wife a compliment. *shrugs*
Second COMING…………C O M I N G as in she’s approaching it….. Yes she has a mighty long way to go but in this generation she’s the closest! He never said she would replace him so I don’t know why everyone is acting like this.

@QueenBey Yes I do. And its not choreography wise, of course beyonces hit’s moves a little harder and sings alot better, but it’s really the principle. Take madonna’s opening for her confessions tour for instance. The precision and execution beyonces puts into her choreography, madonna puts into the theatrical part of the performance. If you really REALLY watch madonna without being biased, you’ll see what I’m saying. Madonna dosent always sing great live, but when she DOES it adds on to the performance as well. You really have to take the time to watch madonna as an entertainer. It really, really upsets me when people trash madonna and put her down as a performer because she’s so creative and tells a theatrical story with her tours, and live performances (vogue on MTV for instance). Thats why I think they are on the same level.

Okay so this voting is rigged somehow because there is no way that Britney Spears has more vocal ability than Beyonce, Gaga, or Adele. Also, Brit can’t dance better than Beyonce or Ciara and I’m pretty sure her fan base was left weirded out by her when she went through her little stage. Speaking of stage, Brit has no stage presence… she’s an awkward nasally person, not even a performer anymore… in her prime yes. Beyonce right now has the complete package and is the female Michael Jackson for she can dance better than Gaga who’s more creative (because she smokes dope) and she, vocally, is considered one of the greats. She was a hit with Destiny’s Child, one of the best selling female groups of all time which by itself is great, but Beyonce is a determined individual and wanted to make a name for herself by going solo. No one can do runs as well as she can and the 16 Grammys prove her talent. She has the third most in Grammy history and she’s not even 30! Also, all four albums debuted at number 1. She just headlined Glastonbury… I mean come on. B proves that she doesn’t have to PROVE anything with her new album which showcases her raw talent. Through key changes, ballads, and up-tempo club bangers, B can do it all and she’s accomplishes it with grace, humility and charm. She is effortless and an iconic entertainer. That’s why MJ was so great… he was effortless and an iconic entertainer. Both of their music will live on well past their years.

I think when you look at so many stars today and live performances, Beyonce is one of the best, because there are not too many artist who can put on a good performance, but years ago, You had MJ, MADONNA, WHITNEY HOUSTON, TLC,PINK, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, R KELLY, there were so many, but today most artist is garbage as performers, so we really don’t have anyone, besides Beyonce, Usher, Chris Brown, Lady Gaga. It took Beyonce 7 years to become a great performer. Before, she was just predictable, repetitive, sloppy, and over sang. This year is the first year where she actually danced rather than shook her ass and lace wig, bent over, did the hip role, and strutted across the stage. This is my honest opinion….
Performance/musicianship/musical input is what separates Beyonce from TODAYS artists and I am a Beyonce stan…..but I also keep it real, her hard work and dedication is REMINISCENT of MJ’s but she has a LOT to prove.
MJ and Beyonce share sort of the same backstory. They both loved music from an early age and BOTH has stage fathers; one being a little narcissistic than the other (Guess Who) but MJ struggled with his life and thats evident in his music. He talked about A***, poverty, apartheid, issues that are looked at as political things that some record company’s consider taboo. Beyonce might be a hard worker when it comes to HER craft but she has no STORY. Her father was part of upper management of XEROX. Her family had MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!!
Now, personal experiences that she has dealt with I don’t know of any so don’t ridicule me; but her music, don’t speak to the MASSES. My grandmother knows Man in the Mirror not Video Phone LOL.
Let me reiterate that I am a STAN but King B has a lot to prove on more than one aspect of musicianship/lyrical integrity to be compared to the King of Pop. Of the contemporaries she is a close 2nd!!!!!

Talent speaks for itself! No need to even compare her to MJ. He was great at what he did, but she is great at what she does too! Many female artist today allow one to shine more at the expense of others. We are also comparing a male to a female. Realistically many things Beyonce creates or introduce to the world will not be able to transcend gender, for example the “uh-oh” dance, most dudes wont do that. On the other hand guys and girls are doing the “moon walk”. Neither of these dances were created by the performer initially, but they introduced it to the world. We all know what people are talking about when they say do “Micheal Jackson” or the “Beyonce”…The moon walk and the “booty pop”. But i’m not sure why people say Beyonce booty shaking is a bad thing, when MJ was grabbing crotch? What I can say is, if there was a way to get both of them on stage today that would the most amazing performance. But it’s not her fault she was born in a later time, doesn’t discredit her talent.
