1. This first single must somewhat live up to its hype. It doesn’t have to blow me away, but it must get me hopeful about the new material.
2. The supporting visual must actually be appealing. If Christina pulls another Not Myself Tonight (too much) or Lost Me (too little), then I will rethink supporting this era.
3. Build up the hype but balance it with expectations. Don’t pull a Gaga (Born this Way) and get me excited for some washed out material. If the Xtina doesn’t build up any hype (ie Rihanna) then why would I get excited about it?
