New Song: SWV – ‘All About You’

Published: Friday 13th Apr 2012 by TGJ Team

90’s R&B super group SWV are back with the follow-up to ‘Co-Sign’ entitled, ‘All About You’.

Lifted from the trio’s comeback album ‘I Missed Us’, the track is a mid-tempo song detailing the motions of falling in love. “All I can do is smile, cause you holding me down, I wanna tell you the truth, because it’s all about you,” the ladies harmonize using classic 90’s samples like ‘I Like The Way (Kissing Game)’ and nostalgic instrumentation.

Get into SWV’s alleged second single after the jump and sound-off below.

‘I Missed Us’ marks the group’s first studio album in years since their disbandment in 1997. The LP is due in stores April 17, 2012.

i like it but dont think its single material. more of a album filler.. would love to hear what the rest of the album sounds like.

I’m loving it. I’m glad they are back together. One of the best girl groups of all time.

It’s a groove…nice harmonies as always. Easy but a lil ruff around the edges. Welcome back ladies…I’m sure we hear more from CoCo.

The entire album is good.. Preview on centrictv.com

For an uptempo, they should release “Show off” or “Do Ya” for the summer.. but I think SWV as a group are in between being in my generation (25) and being adult contemporary. I think since their first single got the most spins at Adult Contemporary they will try to release something a little more tame that the 30/40/50+ crowd will like. But no tea no shade, those the main ones listening to Beyonce and Rihanna now.. it’s strange. I feel like people my age have more respect for the classics sometimes.

Either way, I wish them the best and I’m purchasing the album next week.

I really like the song, but it’s better as an album filler…or rearrange the vocals and allow Coko to sing lead all the way thru. #noshade to LeLee and Taj

    Cute.

Not a smash, hook isn’t strong enough but I can tell I’ll enjoy the album.

    A solid return

I really Enjoy this track,. Nice to hear them all sharing the leads. Taj and Lelee can sing as well. Good return to real r&b music! Much respect these ladies deserve it!

I like the song but they released a song and video with the same name “It’s All About You” back in 1996.
