With 49 days left to the US Presidential Election, Beyonce and Jay Z showed their support for President Obama by hosting a fundraiser for his political cause last night.
Held at the latter’s 40/40 Club in NYC, the philanthropic couple’s night turned out to be quite the success, with a reported $4 million generated from the event, enjoying a reported $40,000 per guest.
On their support, the President shared:
“To Jay and B, thank you so much for your friendship. Beyonce could not be a better role model for our daughters because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent”.

I don’t think it’s fair to hold Beyonce accountable for unknowingly doing business with a party that would afterwards be investigated for being linked to war crimes. Libya was considered a U.S. ally for many years prior to that and all the musical acts that did private shows for Gaddafi (Mariah Carey, Usher, Nelly Furtado, etc) donated their earnings to charity. It’s one of those things where if you know better , you do better.
Now as far as Beyonce explaining her views on Obama’s policies – she’s not hear for that! She’s an entertainer, not someone that should be expressing their thoughts on political matters (unless she takes that upon herself to do so, that’s her prerogative) . There definitely shouldn’t be any obligation for a pop singer to give us their beliefs on race matters, religion or politics unless there running for office or pursuing becoming a pastor. What she choose to do behind the scenes in support of Obama is her business.

This kind of demonstrates EXACTLY what I was saying a few days ago on this blog. These celebs are worth millions but make appearances to RAISE money rather than give their own! In this case however, it’s politics and not starving, suffering, deprived communities. Obviously anyone going to such a fundraiser couldn’t be broke, but I wonder how much Bey and Jay gave of their own money to this cause (Obama) they say they believe in. I’ll take these celebs more seriously when I see them championing a cause with their OWN money i.e. Michael Jackson who donated $100m of his OWN money to start the Heal the World foundation. Even if the cause wasn’t in agreement with my Christian faith I’d acknowledge the sacrifice they’re making in standing up for a cause.
As for this junk about Beyonce and Jay-Z being role models I’m tired. Tired of listening to these two families (Carter-Knowles & Obama) stroking each others ego’s to gain the Black vote, tired of Propaganda FM in my ears every time one speaks about the other. Role model with “Class and poise” while showing thinly veiled previews of Blue Ivy’s birth portal to every unsuspecting camera! What’s that song they hypocritically sang a decade ago? Oh yeah, “Nasty, put some clothes on!”
I REALLY feel these people are being used by the powers that be to get more people to blindly follow wherever they want to take them. Just what do they stand for except foolishness? As for Obama, until I see him abort abortion, yes, the KILLING of innocent children, I will believe his belief in God is as real as Beyonce’s song-writing.

Dakota Fanning would be Beyoncé Knowles “in two seconds” given the chance.
The actress has risen to international fame thanks to roles in high-profile films including The Twilight Saga, Man on Fire and War of the Worlds.
Dakota has Hollywood at her feet, but still admires the lives of other worldwide superstars.
“I love who I am and I love my life but if I could be someone else I’d be Beyoncé in two seconds,” she smiled in an interview with British newspaper The Telegraph.
Dakota stars in Now Is Good, an adaptation of Jenny Downham’s novel Before I Die. The story follows a girl dying of leukaemia who has a bucket list.
The 18-year-old star says children are certainly on her list of life ambitions – despite not talking about her relationship status.
“I want to have a million babies!” she giggled. “Not that I’m getting started now! I have plenty of time.”
Dakota tries to remain independent – and is currently studying at New York University. The star misses her tight-knit family at times though.
“I was saying to my mom the other day, it’s so weird not to have anyone around to run things by. Like, ‘I’m going to eat dinner now! Or I need to go do this?’” she mused. “You’re all by yourself. It’s crazy. But it’s really good for me, I think.
“My mom and I have been pretty much together my whole life, because when I was working before I was 18 she was always with me.”

Beyoncé — along with husband Jay-Z — may have helped raised $4 million for President Obama’s re-election campaign at last night’s $40,000-a-ticket fundraiser, but she’s not stopping there.
Along with her mother, Tina Knowles, the singer-actress-designer has unveiled a set of pro-Obama baby onesies under her House of Deréon label.
Giving new meaning to the words “rock the vote,” the 3-pack of cotton undershirts (which retails for $65) is among the latest products added to the Runway to Win campaign collection, which launched last February.
T-shirts, tote bags, accessories and other Obama-themed swag included in the line were created by an array of fashion designers and celebrities who support the president, including Vera Wang, Tory Burch and Sarah Jessica Parker. A crew neck shirt ($45) designed by Ricky Martin is emblazoned with the words ”Estados/Estamos Unidos.”
While gear from Jason Wu, Tracy Reese and more of Mrs. Obama’s go-to designers has already sold out, fashion-minded FLOTUS fans can still buy a set of red-white-and-blue nail polish from Le Métier de Beauté’s Richard Blanch, a fine art campaign button by jewelry designer Eddie Borgo, or a “Made in USA” scarf designed by Yigal Azrouel.

We can’t imagine Beyonce and Jay-Z having time to entertain since the arrival of daughter Blue Ivy, but exceptions can be made — for, say, President Obama.
The power couple opened the doors of Jay’s 40/40 club in Manhattan on Tuesday, hosting an exclusive fundraiser for the president’s reelection campaign.
A crowd of about 100 sipped Champagne and snacked on sliders, according to the pool report. Seats went for $40,000 to catch Beyonce introduce the POTUS in a brief speech that exalted his leadership.
“I can’t tell you how proud we are to host tonight’s event with President Obama,” said Beyonce, in a stunning red cocktail dress and blond curls. “We believe in his vision.”
Obama returned the compliment, comparing the singer to his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, and cracking a joke about he and Jay-Z playing second fiddle.
“We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are. So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard but it’s OK,” the president said of he and the “Watch The Throne” rapper.
“Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls,” Obama added, thanking the star couple for their friendship and joking that Michelle and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, were upset they couldn’t be present.
On Wednesday, the Obama-Biden official Twitter account uploaded a candid photo (above) from the event, showing Obama and his hosts sharing a laugh.
The president has enjoyed several A-list fundraising events on his campaign trail, with names like George Clooney and “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy opening up their homes.
In August, Obama hit Long Island to rub elbows with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and a host committee that included Anne Hathaway, Anna Wintour and Aaron Sorkin.
