Watch: Little Mix Make US Debut With Sirus Radio Performance

Published: Monday 18th Mar 2013 by Sam

Like the One Directions and Emeli Sande’s before them, Little Mix are making a beeline for US success.

Having drummed up buzz aplenty on home-soil, the X Factor UK winners are hoping to replicate their British achievements (which include two #1 singles and a Platinum album) in America.

Officially kicking off their campaign, Jesy, Jade, Perrie, and Leigh-Anne stopped by Sirus Radio where they performed their debut US single ‘Wings’.

Peep their performance after the jump…

A solid vocal showing from the ladies, which is as best a start as they can get off to in a territory that is notoriously difficult to break for International acts.

On somewhat of a random note, though, are we the only ones that hope new styling comes packaged with their US push? They look over-styled to the point of contrived and we can’t believe that these Sesame Street ensembles are things they’d rock in “real life”. At least we’d hope not.

Put simply, the industry is now more image-focal than ever, and how an artist appears is on-par if not more important that their musical output. Here’s hoping this is a memo the girls digest pronto. Because, while they may sing better than the Spice Girls and current rivals The Saturdays, both of those groups boast a brand of “believable” not yet tastable in this “little mix”.

Your thoughts?

Omg I love them. They’re so cute & actually have vocal talent! I hope they can find their niche over here in America.

Something about them is annoying and off putting. Idk what is it, but I don’t like them.

Simon Cowell really want to recreate the Spice Girls doesn’t he. Anyway good luck little mix.

    Yes they can sing.

But what the Saturdays and Little Mix miss is the Spice Girls “zig-a-zig-Aah!”. They are way too formal to be cracking a d@mn thang in America.

Another thing is that they don’t MIX that well, they don’t appear to be as genuine as One Direction.

But they are cute so maybe all they need is a Disney Movie or something.

I agree, the styling is clearly still being done by the xfactor team & Stooshie (what happened to them)
Although vocally they’re solid it’s still Perri that stands out.

    Good luck girls.

We will never see another Spice Girls-level girl group. Things were different back then and they set the standard for girl groups in terms of worldwide domination and impact.
These girls can sing but are boring and are victims. the spice girls were loud, had catchy pop songs and didnt really give a f***.
    Dropped from Syco by 2015.
