Ameriie Plots Comeback With ‘Because I Love It Vol. II’

Published: Sunday 10th Nov 2013 by Sam

Four years have passed since Ameriie‘s last album ‘In Love & War’ hit stores; what’s more, it’s been double that since the singer enjoyed the taste of commercial success.

And while recent years have brought promises of a “comeback”, the 33-year-old has been relatively quiet on the musical front.

However, that all looks set to change if the diva follows through on her latest announcement.

Details after the jump…

Taking to Twitter today, the starlet – who added an additional ‘i’ to her name because “the vibration felt right” – revealed that she’s working on a sequel to 2007 LP ‘Because I Love It’. She wrote:

***************

On the one hand, we’re wondering what this means for the long-touted ‘Cymatika’ album she’d been working on. Yet, on the other, we’re just glad she’s actually recording and hopeful that the material will legitimately see the light of day this time. The original ‘Because I Love It’ was an absolute ball of brilliance. Hence, anything modelled in its retro, 80’s blueprint would be divine.

In a broader sense, though, we’re still rooting for Ameriie because her narrative feels like one of unfulfilled potential. Incomplete, if you will. Indeed, on paper she has it all – voice, looks, isms, plus the ability to work a stage. Yet, industry politics have marred each and every project she’s released.

Additionally, in an era where the wilder the antics/the bigger the star (see: Rihanna, Miley Cyrus), educated Amerrie – for some misguided music execs – becomes almost “boring”.  Sad, as her albums are often stellar – save for the dreadful ‘In Love & War’. She played herself with that one. But we digress..

She doesn’t just have “it”, she is “it”. As such, we can only hope the public see that upon her eventual return.

Love Ameriie, Beyonce wouldn’t have a career without her.

    • Sheesh November 10, 2013

So why did she have one way before her?
Beyonce worked with rich harrison first.
You Beyonce hater’s are so f****** stupid, If amerie’s sound was so influential how come the only plaques she ever got were “Gold”

H**,1 thing was flopmerie’s only hit,and it was a rip-off of crazy in love. Have a seat

      • CEE November 10, 2013

Ameriie worked with Rich Harrison on her debut, way before Crazy in Love…

      • Grizzly November 10, 2013

You need to do some research before you say s***. 1 Thing is a completely original song. Let’s not forget your queen’s 2007 Bday album is nothing but a sad copy of Amerie’s 2005 Touch album. Everything is the same: production, drums, ad libs etc. Even her style and dance moves in some of her music videos are completely the same as in Amerie’s old music videos.

Go watch Amerie’s Why Don’t We Fall In Love video and then Beyonce’s Crazy In Love video? Do you notice how Bey where’s the exact same outfit in the beginning? Go watch Amerie’s 1 Thing video and then watch Beyonce’s Green Light video and Upgrade You video and tell me you don’t see alot of similarities? AND THEN listen to Amerie’s WHOLE Touch album and after that Bey’s whole Bday album and then tell me they don’t sound alike?

I swear, y’all delusional Beyonce stans are always on other artists d****. You don’t even like Amerie, what the hell you even doin here than? Get a life.

    • BEYHIVE_MINAJ November 10, 2013

^ stop being salty at the fact ameriie was unable to push her own career forward. Don’t hate on bey cuz she actually did something ameriie failed to do. SMH

      • IKNOWTHETRUTH November 10, 2013

That’s very true. “Green Light” sounds a lot like “1 Thing” and “Green Light” samples the “uh-oh-oh-oh-oh” vocals. And it was produced by The Neptunes so let’s not act like they just sound the same due to them being produced by the same person.

Love & war was amazing. I still listen to it on my ipod.

    • Oww November 10, 2013

Yes gawd that In Love & War cd was the truth. She put pieces of all of her other cd’s into that one and made a very cohesive cd! I also was feeling her “Everytime” track that she released. She does well with that hip hop/r&b mix in her music. I am rooting for her!

      • IKNOWTHETRUTH November 10, 2013

“Swag Back” could have been such a HIT from that album. ‘In Love & War’ was great. This site seems to only like catchy pop stuff now. It’s getting on my nerves.

    • BEYHIVE_MINAJ November 10, 2013

Hot sugar says every part of me tbh

  4. Tallb November 10, 2013

how long is she gonna record? it’s been four years of “i’ve almost finished my new album”….she’s talented but she let her fans wait for ages

  5. truth tea (take a sip) November 10, 2013

    Excited!
‘One Thing’ is one of my favourite songs of the last decade

  6. BEYHIVE November 10, 2013

Watch it only be a Mixtape or EP

    • #Beyindependent November 10, 2013

lol it’ll be a mixtape for sure.

  7. Lucia November 10, 2013

She had some good music, but her voice isn’t the most appealing….

  8. #Beyindependent November 10, 2013

    Who??

  9. IKNOWTHETRUTH November 10, 2013

She’s so great, amazing. She reminds me of Beyonce – lite. I just think she needs a stronger team. She makes great material but she needs more songs like “1 Thing” to keep it all going. Even Beyonce knows that you have to make the pop hits in order to make critically acclaimed music later, (see: ‘4’) and I think Ameriie served it up too soon. All of her albums have been amazing though, ‘In Love & War’ just so happened to not be as good as the rest. She needs to drop a reality show or be on R&B Divas or something to launch this comeback and give people MORE of her personality. We don’t know anything about her. Do interviews, make more appearances, and please stay on tour so that we care. I LOVE this woman and I am so rooting for her, I just wish she would have gotten the message before 33. Everybody doesn’t have Vince Herbert behind them to come back in their 30s. Now where is JOJO’S new album. I’m so over Blackground and their b*******.

  10. FentyNavyStan November 10, 2013

Because I Love It is my favorite album of hers. But all of them are great. I’m excited about part two if it’s anything like the first. I hope she delivers. The pressure is on and in the past, sequels just didn’t meet expectations. Like Mary J Blige with her last album or Trey Songz with Anticipation II. Say did she ever drop that mixtape/ep she was working on about a year ago?

  11. BEYHIVE_MINAJ November 10, 2013

    She’s still here?

  12. CEE November 10, 2013

For the record, Beyonce DID NOT work with Rich Harrison first. He was Amariie’s producer and then pimped here sound out to Beyonce, Toni Braxton, Missy Elliott, etc. Although, I did like the songs he did with those artists…much respect, Rich.

  13. Haw November 10, 2013

    oh yeah.
    Miss her so much.
She is so talented and underrated.
Don’t be afraid to release, I know You Think You R Talented.

  14. IKNOWTHETRUTH November 10, 2013

Ameriie’s first album is the reason Beyonce even had a huge beginning to her solo career with “Crazy In Love” in the first place and the song “Get Right” he produced for Jennifer Lopez is a total Ameriie rip off.

    • honey boy November 10, 2013

you are pressed cuz amerie is a flop and beyonce isnt!! amerie cant even make herself successful so how is she responsible for someone elses??? FCK OFF FLAMER!!

      • IKNOWTHETRUTH November 10, 2013

If there were no ‘All I Have’ album there would be no ‘Dangerously In Love’ album, Claude Kelly, a Beyonce collaborator has even said so. So I guess the writer of “Ego” is delusional too. Girl boo.

    • Tallb November 10, 2013

you should know that “get right” was usher’s song first. it was then called “ride” and it’s dope! better than jlo’s

  15. Jess November 10, 2013

Why are you talking about Beyonce? Are we forgetting who tributed who to begin with? And Ameries album was R&B Beyonce commercialized the funk sound first with WORK IT OUT, then CIL and then Amerie jumped on that after CIL, she did one thing. People will say any anything. ‘If it wasnt for Amerie beyonce would be nothing’ LOL. And you call her fans delusional. Beyonce got her vibe and was inspired by OLD SCHOOL artists not nobodies Amerie.

    • IKNOWTHETRUTH November 10, 2013

“Work It Out” was a flop and was not the same sound as “Crazy In Love” or “1 Thing” and “Work It Out” was produced by The Neptunes.

  16. King November 10, 2013

Yasssss because Part I was amazing! I can’t wait!

  17. Wesley November 10, 2013

    Yeah, way to be original!

  18. Wesley November 10, 2013

But her fans ARE in fact delusion lol. Say one bad thing about her on Twitter or Youtube and watch your mentions/ inbox EXPLODE with death threads etc. How is that not being delusional? I’ll wait.

  19. Wesley November 10, 2013

    *threats*

  20. Wesley November 10, 2013

But you’re forgetting the fact she had 3 top selling albums, several hits, a shitload of awards and two grammy nominations How is she not an succesfull artists? This ain’t all that much compared to some artists, but that shouldn’t even matter. She in IN FACT an succesful artist. Btw you seem to be just another hater, may I ask what you’re even doing here in this Amerie related topic? Are you lost?

    • honey boy November 10, 2013

amerie is a one hit wonder. 1 thing is her only memorable hit. SIT DOWN!! the b**** has never even gone platinum!

      • IKNOWTHETRUTH November 10, 2013

“Why Don’t We Fall In Love?” was her first hit followed up by “Talkin’ To Me”. Let me know when Tamar reaches Amerie’s success.

  21. Wesley November 10, 2013

You know what, I’m not even gonna continue all this. It’s a waste of time! I’m just gonna have to get over the fact that when an artist comes out with something new and original, other artists that are far more succesful swagga jack the s*** out of it and act like they’re the ones that came up with it. Way to go B! Y’all stans can continue hopping on Amerie’s d*** everytime there’s news about her instead of focussing on Beyonce’s new project. Fact still remains Amerie did it first. I ain’t even stressing, lol. K bye

  22. Lovebird (Britney Jean – 03.12.13) November 10, 2013

She shouldn’t have announced this via social media, we all know Beyonce will be snooping around her studio now.

Can’t wait to hear what she cooks up and I hope Beyonce keeps her long fingers to herself this time around.

  23. Wesley November 10, 2013

    Exactly.

  24. FutureCIARA November 10, 2013

I hate when people OVER-rate her.

I mean yes she’s a cute girl, Has a nice voice, Can move her body and makes pretty good music, But this girl is so over hyped up its ridiculous.

I remember people would try to compare her to Beyoncé at the time she was out…… Like Umm…

But I wish her success. That ‘Touch’ album was amazing!

    • Dave November 10, 2013

You really need to have a seat. Over-rate her? She can SANG, she writers her OWN music, produces, come up with creative and visual concepts for her music, she can PERFORM, and her music has substance, how many artist nowadays do that? Popular artist?

      Very few.

She’s a genius on so many levels. Let’s not.

  25. Greg2ThaBosher November 26, 2013

I can’t wait for it, Amerie’s done some really good music, I think this whole Beyoncé copied Amerie hype is crap, I mean come on, OK; maybe “B’Day” did sound a bit like “Touch” but to be honest; haven’t any of you guys heard the stuff that’s been out for the past 4 years? Everyone’s jumped onto this Dance-pop/Electronic Dance-pop Music/Electro-pop/R&B-pop vibe and it’s boring! and OK; maybe Beyoncé’s outfit in the “Crazy in Love” video does KINDA look like Amerie’s one in the “Why Don’t We Fall in Love” video. But they are both two of R&B’s finest ladies; Amerie does her R&B/go-go/hip-hop swing and Beyoncé does her R&B/soul/funk/hip-hop/slow jam flavour. Don’t any of you have anything better to do than compare A to B (excuse the pun!)? It’s just boring, both ladies have paved the way for other artist like when Beyoncé bought out “Baby Boy” with it genius R&B and dancehall flavour that paved the way for Rihanna with her “Pon De Replay” song and her first two albums, I hope 2014 does bring back two things:
1)Real R&B and hip-hop not this whole mixed up sound where artist try to sound like each other.
2)Amerie’s album, Mariah Carey’s album and Beyoncé’s long awaited album, all three of those R&B divas have and have had a successful career and loyal fans and have brought hits after hits and real soulful melodies, so cut the hate.

  26. karasmatic1 January 28, 2014

Beyonce stole everything about AMERIE’S image down to the hot pants and one-zy she is always
Wearing Please do your homework Ameries solo career was already off the ground when beyonce
Was still kicking Latoya and the out the group Helllloooooo….did u forget
THE shade was plain and simple beyonce needed an image to steal
so both of the were on Columbia Records so rumor has it that Beyonce
Needed an image so she jacked Amerie’s and carbon copied her whole
Style mind you Amerie originally released 1 Thing for the soundtrack Hitch
Aint it funny that Amerie opened up for Destiny’s Child lsst tour Isnt it Ironic?????
So its true beyonce has always been a theif look how she trys to keep up
    With Rihanna lol……

    • People who copy are pathetic September 4, 2014
